What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

    The Equalizer with Denzel Washington.
8.5/10 Slow motion sprinkler/nail gun scene at the end was too much.

I usually like James Franco, but since he's gotten with Seth Rogen he's gone down hill. Rogen is infinitely more funny, and it's like Franco tries WAY too hard to keep up.

The wife and I saw Horrible Bosses 2, pretty funny. I give it a 7.5/10, a lot of laugh out loud moments.

Bad Grandpa was ridiculously funny, I was shocked how much I liked it. The motorcycle scene I thought had potential to be way funnier than it was, but that movie overall was great

    Agreed.
I may have even given it a 4.

Just was not that interesting at all.

American Sniper looks great and is getting good reviews from what i have read.

Just have to remember going in that it isnt a war movie per say. It deals with the life of a soldier and family back home and the trials and tribulations that many suffer.

Wild - 7/10. Reese Witherspoon is really good. I enjoyed the movie, but the book is better per usual.

I watched the movie kundo yesterday. I freaking love kung fu and I thought it was every bit as good as crouching tiger.

I also watched "magic in the moonlight" and I thought it was surprisingly entertaining. Although the was a slight twist at the end I just couldn't believe.

i saw Foxcatcher. Really well done film about a very creepy guy and a sad story. I give it an 8.5/10.

Watched Gambler on Monday. It was ok, nothing special.

The Neighbors. 5/10. Humorous parts, but pretty stupid. The airbag scenes had me dying, though.

Gravity. 6.5/10. I remember some people saying it was boring so I didn't expect much going in. Thought is was OK.

    Bad Teacher.....6

Went on a movie binge the last couple days. Watched a few I've seen before, so I won't go over those. I did get a couple new ones as well.

Saw the new Hobbit movie. For the first time ever, I have to say this (and I didn't think I ever would). The fight scene was so long it got boring. As a result, the plot within the movie itself (not including the plot as part of the whole series) was minimal. The movie could have been summed up in one sentence: That big, scary dragon is dead, so we're all going to fight over his castle full of treasure. Still, the graphics were absolutely incredible. I'd still give it a 7/10, but it felt lower because of the high hopes I had.

Saw The Gambler. I had low expectations for this one, but I actually didn't mind it. It was slow, and the plot was pretty cryptic throughout. Also, it begs the question why he got into such trouble in the first place, if he was able to walk away so easily. However, I appreciated the philosophical questions engaged by him and his class. Also, it mentioned (and dealt with) Albert Camus, who has been one of my favorite authors and philosophers, so that made me like it more, as well. However, seeing John Goodman in a towel wearing that red hat ... nobody should ever see that. Another 7/10.

Saw Horrible Bosses 2. This is the McDonalds of film. Is it awful? Sure. Did I still like it? Yeah, I kinda did. If I'm honest, I'd give it maybe a 5/10, but with an enjoyment level around 8. I thought Chris Pine's character was great, and Christoph Waltz was great as always, though admittedly in a far more comedic film than I'm used to seeing him in.

Have 2 movies doanloaded and ready to watch, Nightcrawler and The Drop. Really like Tom Hardy, so might watch that first. Anyone seen either?
  • Laley23
I really liked Nightcrawler. Jake Gyllenhall is (should be??) a darkhorse for awards season, imo.
  • Fab4Runner
The Drop was very good. Can't go wrong with either, IMO.
  • Benny The Jet
Watched Nightcrawler, thought it was really good. Gyllenhall was great. Reminded me a lot of Christian Bale's character in American Psycho.
  • bigdaddy2003
    I really enjoyed Nightcrawler.

Anchorman 2. I give it 5/10, tops. They tried WAY to hard with this one.
  • ernest_t_bass
The Chef. Watched it with teh wife. A good flick. Nothing award winning about it, but I'd give it a 7/10.

Just finished watching Grudge Match. 5/10. Not bad, not great.

Am hearing that American Sniper is extremely good and that Cooper does an amazing job. Just hoping the local theatre has it this weekend.

    Theatre on online?
Any time I watched a movie early online and then went to the theatre I always liked it better the second viewing.
Was wondering how they would tie it all in. Book was great, but just bits and pieces of everything he was doing and not one consistant story.
