justincredibleMy uncle just posted on facebook a chain of events that led to my 78 year old grandma sneaking off to the doctor to get xrays on her hand. They were loading cattle to head to butcher (a pair of 1,100 pound steers) and one of them kicked the trailer gate as she was shutting it and it smashed her hand. She didn't say anything to my uncle (because she didn't want to throw off his schedule) and when he left to take them to the butcher she went to the doctors. Luckily nothing was broken.

Manhattan BuckeyeNo intention meant to discriminate against the different service establishments, but my buddies in the Marines are pretty tough, given that they go away for months at a time and don't have much time to have when family when they are back - and they don't get paid that much.

I know a few farmers who'd just say "dag nabbit" after smashing their thumb with a hammer but Steve Henderson may take the cake. Lit himself on fire (accident) with 2nd and 3rd degree burns, you could see leg bone. He drove himself to the hospital (15ish minute drive) and didn't tell his wife.
He also is the father of Brett and Troy Henderson. If you know those two, you'd understand. -

Fab4RunnerMy grandma is also pretty tough. Same with my dad and stepdad, my grandpa and my brothers. My little sister is really the only one in the family who is a giant vag about pain.

Classyposter58I'm pretty good about pain, but my grandpa really fights through it. Asked the doctor about a pain in his arm (worked in a factory) that he had for 8 months and turned out he a torn rotator cuff and bone spurs. Then he kept doing home improvements with a torn bicep, kinda crazy

Belly35Thanks BRF but I have had my ass kicked a few times sometime you just have a bad day.
I gave a talk yesterday to a group of kids with Autism, what a great group of kids and the teachers and helpers what a great job they do
.
Reading this thread, thinking about our family, my grandson disability and remembering those kids yesterday made me think.
Parents of kids with disabilities and physical handicap are the toughest people I know.
Mentally everyday they have to be prepared for situation many of us would be clueless, physically the strain sometime is over welling and the stress of the daily pressure, commitment and burden never subsides.
