Lol had to share... @LifeAsRednecks: Taylor Swift is about as country as unsweet tea or a hybrid truck!
  • OSH
Doesn't get much better than King George.

If that's a good unknown artist than I'm glad I don't pay attention to country. Literally sounds like every other male country artist out there today.

For me, it's 100% for the performances.

How can true, old school fans stand any of this stuff??? Most of it is pop music with steel guitars and country themes that can't get played on traditional pop radio IMHO.
It may have happened before, but Garth Brooks and Shania Twain really moved the industry towards the middle I think.

I am no coutnry expert at all,but I remember Brooks blowing up country and mainstream radio. It is just like everything else, when you start to move toward the middle lines you appeal to more people.

I have only become somewhat interested in the last year or so with country music. It isnt your Kenny Rogers, or John Denver, or Oak Ridge Boys, or Jonny cash, or any of those old stalwarts, but the move to th emiddle, blurring of the lines and crossing over that has been a huge boom for country music.

I only watch any said awards show for the musical acts and to see some of the women.

Underwood was hot...but WTF pants was she wearing late in the show for just a quick second?

but I wont watch the ESPY's. To me they are fucking stupid. Only awards I care about in sports are the ones you win on the field

Definitely. If not for these shows, most wouldn't get to see, last night for example, King George and Alan Jackson singing a George Jones song together.

Although this makes me contradictory to what I said about blonde....just something about miranda lambert.....her look, her voice just drives me nuts...
  • GoChiefs
Speaking of Miranda, has her and Blake taken Tim & Faith's spot over as county music's biggest power couple? I'd say definitely.
  • Me?

I guarantee most of the more typical country artists completely despise the fact that Taylor Swift is considered a country artist behind the scenes. But in front of the camera they're definitely smart enough to realize that she's helping the popularity of country music, so you won't hear them say it publicly. But she is about as country as Prince is.
