Metalheads- what band created the most epic riffs?
-
LJI'm gonna say Pantera for most epic and Metallica for most recognizable.
-
Manhattan BuckeyeJesus Built My Hotrod. Great riff.
These days nothing against dimebag or metallica, but I would have loved to see Iron Maiden back in their heyday in the 80's. -
TedShecklerPantera
Slayer
Iron Maiden -

Manhattan Buckeyeok, enough.
can you guys stop depressing me. I would pay $500 to kick Justin Bieber in the balls and watch the Iron Maiden Powerslave tour. With special nod to the Number of the Beast Album. -
Mohican00Eh, Pantera
honorable mention Black Sabbath -
Manhattan Buckeyenot bad, not bad...saw Ozzy in '96 and '98, before the whole reality show thing. Put on a pretty good show and had Geezer Butler both times.

HereticTed, you're bringing the fucking awesome with those songs. I'm partial to Maiden as #1, but those two albums are as good as it gets on an individual album basis by groups.
I might go with this for my single-song epic riffer.

Mohican00thread ruined, dream theater's here
-
HereticAnd is was part of a good 1-2 punch. Systematic Chaos was DT's heaviest album and had a couple songs loaded with, IMO, killer riffs.

said_aouitaHave been a fan of Ministry for ages. My brother saw them in the early 80's when he was a student at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Yeah, Beneath the Remains and Arise were both killer albums. Then Chaos AD was solid and then they just went off the charts shitty, first replacing metal riffs with tribal beats and then swapping out their vocalist for an inferior one.TedSheckler;1531037 wrote:Used to rock out to this back in high school on my Discman.
