Worst you have won/lost a game

thavoiceSpinoff from the bullying thread on the 91-0 score.
In HS or above, what was your biggest point spread in defeat or victory?
In football, worst defeat was 16-57 after losing 20-60 the week before. (at least the 60-20 was against a team with 4 guys going D1 and two ending up in the NFL.
Basket5ball the worst defeat was 50-90 to the same school that beat us 20-60 in football. Believe they won state in football and basketball that year.
The biggest point spread win was 109-40 against a school that is now defunct. They had one of those gyms that was so mall the 3 point was like 3 inches from the side at the baseline.
In baseball the biggest win was 32-2, and worst loss was 4-9 -

Worse ass kicking probably was Dave Briggs sitting on me until the final 400m at an indoor meet at Ohio State. Went by me and their was no way in hell I'd ever catch him. -
Manhattan BuckeyeBasketball loss - 100-40
Basketball win - 79-22 (and it was 51-11 at halftime) -

If we go down that far..I know we won a pony league baseball game 35-1. Would have been worse but the coach told a couple of guys in the last inning to strike out on purpose and it wouldnt count against them. NOrmally I woulda been against that and just let it play out as someone will make outs, but they had walked over ten in the last inning and no one was getting anything out of it.fish82;1523277 wrote:Lost a Little League game 30-2. -

Speaking of wrestling, I'm at least happy that, as far as I know, none of this ***** "you beat us too bad, you bully!" stuff has seeped in there. As someone who started as a sophomore and, due to being on a shitty team, was almost immediately varsity even though I didn't initially know what I was doing for the most part, during my HS career I was on both sides of the situation where one kid is a lot better than the other, so they just take them down, let them up and so on for a couple minutes --- the superior kid knowing he can work on a few things before getting down to finishing off the weaker.hasbeen;1523272 wrote:hs football: won 63-7 or 14.

By the standards some of these dumbasses go into crying about bullying, running it up, etc., it is nice that at least one sport still takes more of a "if you work hard and get better, that won't happen to you" mindset into handling things like getting steamrolled by someone who is flat out better. -
hasbeenAgreed Heretic. You can't go out and just on ASAP. You lose conditioning and work.

That is all fine and dandy but when about when the lesser wrestler falls victim to a suplex or a piledriver and loses all because he was messing around working on things?

ernest_t_bassAs a coach, we beat a team 76-6 this year (JH), but we had 5 defensive touchdowns, and zero pass completions throughout the whole game. Not much you can do about that.

Football: We won 55-0.
Lost: 35-0. Both teams were 8-0 going into the game. Just one of those games where everything went wrong for us and everything went right for them. We met them in the playoffs 4 weeks later and lost in the last 20 seconds.
Wrestling: quite a few tech falls.
Lost: the only match where I completely was embarrassed was in freestyle. For those unfamiliar with the Olympic style of wrestling, basically toucan score points much quicker than standard folk style wrestling. Winning/losing by 10 (happens often in freestyle) is considered a tech fall. Anyway I lost 10-0 and it no more than 30 seconds. For those who follow wrestling I lost to eventual div 1 NCAA champ mike puccillo. -
mcburg93In football lost 63-0 the very next year beat the team 31-0. Baseball we were on the bad end of a few ass whippings i think the worse was 27-0.
