  It isn't pizza, it is a casserole. And for the most part it is an undone casserole. Back in the day I could eat and drink stuff that would make a billy goat puke, but the first time I tried Chicago "pizza" I got indigestion because the dough wasn't cooked. It was like a party in my mouth and everyone was throwing up cheese, tomato sauce and uncooked meat in it.

  True. I only eat it twice a year...and I prefer Gold Star, because it's less 'watery'.

  The "slider" is, was and always will be Ohio's contribution to the food chain. White Castle started it all right here in the 1920s. Now every fkn hipster bistro you stumble into from NYC to Cali has "sliders" on the menu. Ive seen chicken sliders, fish sliders, bbq sliders and in Vail last winter one place had "Mountain Oyster Sliders". The rest of America can say "Thank-you Ohio" anytime now.

  It was a mom & pop operation until Billy Ingram bought it out and moved the HQ to Columbus and the rest is history. Nice try tho on the KS spin.

  The restaurant was already well established when White Castle moved to Columbus. It was a midway point between the chains footprint (Kansas to New York).

  Cinn Chili is a joke it’s regional at best and Chili makers in Ohio have much better taste and flavor that to mask their creation with noodles.
  
  Pierogis and or Parmageddon (pierogis w/ cheese, onion and kruat) again very regional and ethic areas.
  
  German Potatoes Salad not sure many Ohio house holds know how to make authentic German Potatoes salad. Not that it hard it’s just skewed by what Cracker Barrel deems as Germany Potatoes
  
  Lake Perch or Walleye great stuff and very well receive in the northern area of Ohio because of the lake. However Walleye and Perch are fresh water catch it is very popular in many areas of the state also. Could be a winner
  
  Ohio Sweet corn … good pick Can be prepared in multiple methods, home grown and popular across the area and ethic groups. Other potential winner
  
  Trail Bologna. Wow! Love Trail Bologna but then again I think once you look at the geographic of it’s popularity the upper income and city folk are clueless.
  
  Bacon.. Ohio Bacon everyone love bacon and Ohio produces some of the best in America. The potential cooking methods are endless and what can’t you add bacon to…. Home grown mofo Winner potential?

  Chocolates some of the fines producer of Chocolates come from Ohio …

  So...if I'm understanding you correctly (and I'm probably not, since you rarely use proper sentence structure) Cinci chili isn't a good representation of Ohio food because it's called Cinci-Chili instead of Cinci-sauce?

  I guess that is debatable since White Castle started in Wichita, Kansas. The headquarters is in Columbus, now.

  The more I think about it, the more I think Ohio doesnt have a true food identity. Lake Erie Perch and Walleye? Never even heard of it as being some special food before this thread. Though, I've only been in Northern Ohio for 4 years. Skyline Chili? Never had the desire to ever make a special trip ten minutes from me in Stow to try out this famous sauce to put on a hot dog lol.
  
  I can relate to trail bologna and sweet corn (growing up in rural Ohio) as well as Pierogis (polish family).
  
  Fact is, different regions of Ohio are culturally different which is why everyone has different opinions. Northern Ohio is nothing like Southern Ohio. Im not very familiar with Central. I took a friend from Solon to my parents to hunt and he said "I never knew Ohio had hills and was this rural" lol.
