Ohio Breweries

sportchamppsWhat are your favorite breweries in Ohio.
Number one for me in four strings in Grandview. They actually just opened a area to sit inside the brewery and order a couple beer while you watch them brewing the beer. I've tried a few of their beers and never been disappointed. I would recommend the backstage blond (Belgian style blonde) and the Big Star ( a white IPA or any of their seasonals.
Second Jackie Os in Athens. All of their beers have been great and they recently started selling in giant eagle in Columbus.
I havent been to wolfs ridge in Columbus since it opened but I'm hearing good things. -
iclfan2I'd have to go GreatLakes strictly because they make Christmas ale. Never had Jackie o's but heard good things. Market garden in Cle has some solid beers also.

I hate GL Christmas. St. B Christmas is GOAT. Not my opinion, it is a fact.iclfan2;1519933 wrote:I'd have to go GreatLakes strictly because they make Christmas ale. Never had Jackie o's but heard good things. Market garden in Cle has some solid beers also. -

MadTree is in Cincinnati. I love their Happy Amber and the Gnarly Brown...and their PsycHOPathy IPA is fantastic.sportchampps;1519968 wrote:Where's madtree from? What beer of theirs would you recommend -

Been there many of times. Solid beers and the people that serve them are very knowledgeable with beers overall. They have a dedicated sour tap. This month they are featuring home brews on tap one day a week. They just upgraded their brewing equipment to larger tanks. I believe they sold their older equipment to Blank Slate here in Cincy, who makes some great beers too.Apple;1520424 wrote:If I lived in Cincinnati I would be hitting Rivertown as often as I could.

Haven't made it to MadTree yet, but I have had their beers. I've been to 50West a couple of times. Great food and solid beer. They even have a few one off beers you will only have once.. and for you Hipster Vinyl lovers they have a few. Nice outdoor area.sherm03;1520477 wrote:MadTree is in Cincinnati. Mt Carmel is nice. Nice views and a pond in the back of the brewery.
I've met Justin at Listermann's/Triple Digit. Small area, but great beers.
