Apparently it happened in leftist voting Ohio too (http://www.ksla.com/story/23675538/official-ebt-card-systems-now-up-and-running):

    STFU
Too stupid to actually read and comprehend the thread, I see.

    For your slow, old mind...

    1. Thread about EBT abuse at a Wal-Mart.
    2. Belly rants about Obama and entitlement takers because in his mind, everything everywhere that goes wrong is because Obama, followed by Sleeper commenting that these people will then vote for a democrat.
    3. Zwick points out how this all happened in a heavily Republican area.

NO ONE pointed out anything about how any potential glitch happened BECAUSE this happened in a republican area until you.

Typical politard -- make up shit out of thin air to prove a point that has no relevance.

My point is that yours was worthless. Do you think Dr. Carson has an EBT card? Just because this site leans "conservative" doesn't mean countering with unfounded arguments like yours is clever or worthwhile. Only an idiot would think the majority of these people voted for Romney, to the extent it matters- which is zero.

You missed part 4, MB's post. Criminy I'd guarantee that Romney won Henrico Co., Virginia by some margin, but any person that lived there knows that in the east side (a few miles east of I-95) my guess that a large area (large enough to support 2 400 person/class school districts) most likely voted Obama by 80%, or more.

I'm sure they were all on their Obama phones calling all their cousins, half-brothers, half-sisters, baby daddies, baby mamas, etc., from the store saying "hey, get down here, they are GIVING away FREE food.

As for the people using them past the limit what will (or should) happen is that future payments to their card will be netted out. Watch them gripe then.
The grocery store this weekend where I shop had signs posted that the EBT System was down and, therefore, NO EBT debit cards would be temporarily accepted until the system was back up. That's what WallyWorld should have done.

It's cute how defensive Mr. Everything Is The Left's Fault gets whenever anyone hints that anyone remotely associated with his party might not be perfect.

Yeah. I was in a store on Saturday stocking up on ground beef and when I went to pay with debit, the lady at the register asked what kind of card I had because of how EBT was down and couldn't be used if I was going that way.

If Wal-Mart's stupid enough to let EBT shoppers shop anyway even though they can't do anything to ensure they're only taking what their card allows, then lol on them for being that moronic. But that's Wal-Mart for you -- a chain based around catering to the lowest common denominator. As a chain, they'd probably have to fold if they lost their welfare people.

You didn't have a point. You only had a stereotype. You seem to think it was only blacks who only vote democrat abused the system. Numbers in the area suggest otherwise.

Yeah same thing happened to be I was shopping in Kroger around noonish and they made an announcement about EBT being down. Then when I got up to the register the cashier asked me what I was paying with. I also agree with your second point.

15 million blacks are on the SNAP program and the country only has about 39 million blacks. Given that 96% of black people voted for Obama, the numbers are not in favor of your argument.

15 million blacks and 47 million whites. Numbers still don't support your case.

Far more whites than blacks in this country who don't get benefits like hiring quotas and Affirmative Action.

A larger number to collect groceries with their food stamps in this Romney voting parish.

Not worth the money. They might send a letter then sell the account to a creditor for pennies on the dollar, if they can get anything at all

I would assume most of it was perishables (food) and clothing, most of which can' be re-sold anyway. These people have no money to get recovery from, and you can't recover probably 95% of the what was bought.

There's nothing more here than a good 'ol fashioned write-off.

And while you can say Walmart was stupid for honoring those transactions, I'm sure the thought process was "good lord, imagine the press and headlines if we deny food to these people!".

The correct course of action probably would have been to institute a $100 spending limit or so, enough for people to feed their family for a few days until the system was back-up.

Although I wonder if Walmart won't be able to repeatedly hit these cards for the money owed as the govt credits new money...so maybe those people better make that $700 of food last a while.

lol, that would be entertaining as hell to watch unfold, as the sorts of people who'd be on welfare and willing to totally abuse the system are usually not the sorts of people capable of things like "long term planning" and "making that $700 of food last a while"

Walmart sucks, what morons to allow this to happen. This is why you don't go there, go to Meijers which has a much better selection if you want to be a cheapass, or don't be a cheap ass and go to Andersons or Krogers

If you want to be a true cheap-ass, you've got to shop around. Your cheapest grocery bill likely comes from at least 2 or 3 different stores. Most stores have "loss leaders" to get you in the door, and then make it up on other items. Though on average the cheapest, I'm pretty sure even Walmart will still gouge you on few things.
