women working hours

  There are very few women who work at our facility, but the one's who do seem to work about 4-5 hour shifts. Come in at 9 .. hour lunch (at least) and leave before 2:30.
  I understand the concept of a flexable schedule, but it loses it's flexabilty if it never bends the other way. I typically work 50 hrs. I'll work more than that if necessary. There's points I'll go for months without working under 60 hour weeks. And it's not b/c I love my job... it's so I can meet my goals for the year.
  I'd love to be able to see their plans for the year and how they can swing a 4-5 hour day..everyday.
  And this isn't being sexist..it's definitely true for here.

  Everyone works the same amount of hours where I work, however, we have quite a few single moms that spend an awful lot of time at doctors appts. with their kids. They have to use sick leave, but everyone has a ton of that.

  I don't have hours. Everyone I work with stays until the job is done. Phone is open 24/7.
  
  Most people don't work on Sundays -- that's the family day. There's also only one woman that is full-time employed in the department. Not too family friendly of a job for women, but it happens all over. Sometimes it's hard finding women that are qualified that are willing to do the job for many years. We hire for consistency, not to replace them after a couple of years.

  I agree with this for the most part. In the 3 different office settings my wife has worked the amount of days/hours missed by the majority of her co-workers was unbelievable....they'd literally miss 3-5 days a month minimum and everything was a legitimate reason to miss. My wife is pretty by the book and "do what you are supposed to be doing" and it affected her a good bit.
  
  The women I work with you can predict how much they are going to miss by how good of a teacher they are. The shitty teachers will miss 12-20 days a year and somehow not have any sick days....our best teachers rarely miss....this pretty much holds true with all the non-certified staff as well.
