The Blacklist rocked

  • Tiernan
I recorded The Blacklist and watched it later and it was like watching a good film. Highly recommend. Will be interesting to see if it continues at this caliber.

    a swing......

    And a fail.

I caught maybe 20 minutes of it.

    Not too bad.

The leading lady was attractive enough to keep watching for a bit.

Probably not somethign I will tune in each week to see though.

Yeah I pegged you for more of a "Scandals" type of guy.

    lol, no

So, who was it that bugged the chick's house? DHS, or a black market terror group? This show is intense. Loving it so far.

I feel like, at any moment, James Spader is going to tell her "I am your father"
  • Tiernan
I'm thinking he's her fathers brother or BF that somehow is responsible for the death of her parents. The "I'm your father" scenario is too apparent the way they have set it up.

the video surveillance ties into her husband some way is my guess...not really focused on her.

Me too, but I think it is too obvious.

    Edit: What Tiernan said.

I thought that too, until the red flag came up that she had the bullet casing analyzed, so now they're "on to her."

I agree with all that. I'm just getting tired of the way they keep teasing it when we all know it's too obvious.

Could be her father's brother, but you'd think she might know her family history inside and out. Relation to the BF makes more sense, or maybe her BF is one of the blacklist (which again is probably a little too obvious). Although from a story arc standpoint, the BF being blacklist could be interesting - Spader appears to be training her to be an asset/undercover.

Hopefully they reveal more at a bit brisker pace. They sort of tried that "Lost" type thing with "Alcatraz" or whatever it was called and it flopped. But even if you get annoyed with that aspect, the rest of the shows so far have each stood pretty well on their own.

She's married. It's her husband. Not BF.

I meant her father's Best Friend by BF. Guess I should have used BFF to avoid confusion. Agree that the following epis have not been as good as the premier. Still not bad but its no 24 or Homeland yet.

I was referring to gut's post.

I disagree. Last night's episode was pretty good. They're all intense.

This is definitely my favorite of the new shows this Fall. I'll be watching every episode.

Just watched the first 2 episodes online.

    Spader is still a boss.

It is kind of amazing how much mileage he has gotten out of playing basically the same character in about half a dozen different roles.

Nobody, except maybe Robert Downey Jr, plays smug superiority better.

    Wow....Quite the midseason finale.

This show does the "obvious" better than any I've seen. Did I miss something, or did they not tell us directly that Red is her father? Clearly he could be lying at the end there, but it's also possible that he's technically an uncle or close family friend that took her in (however briefly). And obviously something is up with her husband.

They get more ROI out of the brief overarching subplot than any other show. So well done.

Fortunately we don't have to wait half a year to pick-up the 2nd half.

Fall finale finally equalled the premier episode. The husband will be key bad guy in the next set.
  • ernest_t_bass
Loved the last episode. I could have watched it for another hour+

Love this show. I still think Red is her father, he just doesn't want her to know that. It'll be interesting to see what exactly her husband is into.
