These and I also wear Saucony Progrid. A lot lower heel in the Sauconys compared to 2100 series.GOONx19;1502240 wrote:I wear Asics 2100 series. -

iclfan2Get your shoes on runningwarehouse.com, and just get a neutral shoe. Clearance items on this site have an additional 15% off if u use code fb15d. I just bought my first pair of nice running shoes from there and got the Brooks Ghost 5's, which running world said was their editors pick for shoe of the year in 2012. It is the prior years' version, so an $110 pair of shoes was bought for around $61. And they feel awesome on my feet.

I can't afford new running shoes every 2.5 months, so I have to suck it up. I'd love to replace them more often but it's not an option at the moment.ccrunner609;1502568 wrote:asics 2100 series are nice but 800 miles is too many. Should put no more then 500 -
dlazzI don't know what everyone else is suggesting, but I'd go to a running store and see what they say. They'll usually have you walk around/jog to see how your foot plants the ground, and make suggestions based on what they see.

bases_loadedEnded up with New Balance 880 v3. Was there for about an hour, wide foot, low arch, I run on the inside of my foot or something. Was between those and the Saucony and Mizuno...bought them there since he spent so much time going over everything and brining shoes out and stuff.

friendfromlowrySaid and ccrunner -- not sure if you've mentioned it, but what's a good running store in Miami county ( or Dayton ) that evaluates your running? I've got terribly flat feet and they've always given me problems. I've been running a few miles at a time and my feet and legs are often sore as shit.

It would have been Endurance Sports in Dayton but they are closed.friendfromlowry;1502636 wrote:Said and ccrunner -- not sure if you've mentioned it, but what's a good running store in Miami county ( or Dayton ) that evaluates your running? I'd recommend Front Runner on Lane Ave over near the tOSU campus. 614-486-0301

609 mentions orthotics. Hopefully they are a last ditch resort. -

This.
The "brand" is irrrelevant. The type of shoe for your pronation is what's most important. -

I agree. We go between 350 and 500 miles depending on the shoe. Never more than 500.ccrunner609;1502568 wrote:asics 2100 series are nice but 800 miles is too many. Should put no more then 500 -

Endurance sports was always good, but they closed.friendfromlowry;1502636 wrote:Said and ccrunner -- not sure if you've mentioned it, but what's a good running store in Miami county ( or Dayton ) that evaluates your running? goodluck bases loaded, and glad you actually got them there after using their expertise. If they work out for you then ya can search online for better prices for your next pair since you know the model that suits you. Be prepared to go back though as models change and get updated often and it can get frustrating. You can keep track of your mileage or just let your legs tell you when ya need a new pair. I have had a GPS watch for years to keep track of my progress and it is pretty cool Some use the nike app and such but I prefer an actual watch. -

didnt see your post...do you know why endurance closed? I know he was open since 1982 and was always very helpful when I would go there. He was always very enthusiastic and helpful.said_aouita;1502733 wrote:It would have been Endurance Sports in Dayton but they are closed.

ralphus33I had no idea that Endurance Sports closed.(I haven't been running much, so I haven't been getting many running shoes.) That is sad. It was a staple in the Dayton running community. I got dozens of shoes there over the years. I know at least a couple other running stores opened over the past few years in the Dayton area. I'm sure that combined with people shopping online more really hurt business.

Facebook page seems to indicate it closed this past February. -

Probably so, but maybe the guy just retired and couldnt find someone to take it over. It had been in business since the early 80's.dlazz;1503348 wrote:Probably wasn't profitable.
I know one of the later times I was there, (was on wilmington pike) there was major construction on the whole shopping center that made it hard to locate.
but yeah..it was a great place and the owner was very enthusaistic about running and helping people get their perfect shoe -
