Sign Flippers
-
TiernanJust left the office and on 3 consecutive intersections I passed these morons that flip and spin signs. First of all what Fkn business marketing model ever touted this asinine practice as a viable way to spend your advertising dollars? Secondly you can never read whatever is on their idiotic signs anyway.

queencitybuckeyeThree people lucky to be alive with your driving.

GoChiefsIt got your attention, so their marketing strategy was successful. I don't think they care if you can read the sign, they've been around long enough now that everyone knows they are standing in front of the store they are advertising for.
-
dlazzI have to side with Tiernan for once. The sign flippers piss me off too.
I make it a point to not visit the businesses that use them. My way of sticking it to the man. -
gutWell, it does get your attention.
And assuming it's minimum wage...maybe 4 hours during a couple peak times of day...That costs them roughly $30. Pretty tough to find advertising cheaper than that. Don't have to even bring in much business to recover that $30 (ignoring the potential to acquire a new repeat customer). -
said_aouitaFast food places including pizza, 10 minute oil change, cell phone companies. Where else uses sign flippers?
Have never seen a flipper and made an inpulse stop. -
gut
I haven't either...but just think about how many cars see it on a busy intersection in an hour. Has to be hundreds - even a 0.1% "impulse stop" rate would bring in several new customers over the course of a day.said_aouita;1496530 wrote: Have never seen a flipper and made an inpulse stop. -

Apparently they get enough new business to hire and pay some immigrant who can't speak English or a punk with a felony just out of prison.gut;1496535 wrote:I haven't either...but just think about how many cars see it on a busy intersection in an hour. Wonder if sign flippers have a 401k. -
#1DBag"Flip that bitch a few times."

dlazzThey have guys flipping signs near me for an apartment complex that just opened, and another that is opening soon.

I actually chuckled at this. Mostly because I consider running over sign flippers when I see them.queencitybuckeye;1496503 wrote:Three people lucky to be alive with your driving. -
Ironman92Worst job ever.
But there is a young girl in town that does this for Little Ceasars and she is great. It can be 25 or 95 degrees and she's out there dancin that sign around and is happy as hell....been doing it close to 5 years. I don't know if it's ever sold an extra pizza...but she makes about everyone that passes smile. -
O-TrapLiberty Mutual has one dressed as the Statue of Liberty near my house.
I honestly never gave them much thought. They rarely get my attention, but even when they do, I don't get upset over it. -

Tiernan started this thread. The criminal talk is likely to offend him. Then, he'll want a say in how to punish you for offending him.said_aouita;1496538 wrote:... or a punk with a felony ... -

They should strike to get $15 an hour.gut;1496525 wrote:Well, it does get your attention.

If you know of a sister of mine, please do let me know where she is after you do whatever it is you want to do. I'd like to meet a long-lost sister.Tiernan;1497383 wrote:I'd like to slap your sister and by "slap" I mean... -
TiernanOk then your Mom...I am assuming you do have one of those. Although I'm sure youre a huge disappointment to her.

Probably. Kind of odd that you didn't go the safe route (mom) first.Tiernan;1497508 wrote:Ok then your Mom...I am assuming you do have one of those. Although I'm sure youre a huge disappointment to her.
Either way, she'll probably make fun of your tiny peen, and then feel bad about it when you kill yourself driving drunk home from her house. -

Why would your mom let a drunk man drive home?
Maybe she didn't. He probably just chugged a case out of his trunk then drove. -
TiernanO-Traps mom is always knocking back some 40s with me. Then we drive the piss out of her Olds 88.

Given her record, apparently my little mom handles her liquor better than you.Tiernan;1497763 wrote:O-Traps mom is always knocking back some 40s with me. Then we drive the piss out of her Olds 88. -
