How much do you pay for internet?

  • gut
I play the game, back and forth between Comcast and AT&T. Sometimes I get a match or extension, but it's almost always the case that you get a 6-12 month introductory rate which is the main reason you see prices jump.

Those intro/promo packages are probably at least $50 a month cheaper than regular rates (my entire package, with HBO, is $80/mo). Certainly enough to call for a price match otherwise take your business elsewhere.

My ISP is capping my usage at 250 GB. I don't use that much, but it's the mere principle that they would cap that drives me fucking insane.

Do you have other options in the same price range?

If they aren't willing to budge on the price for me I'll try that route. You should be fine since it would be in a new name and different last name. Not sure if they'd honor it switching from me to my wife.

If you do it online, you should be fine. They usually have too many customers to check.

When I was with AT&T, I had my 6 month promo period run out. I simply went to my online account, clicked an upgrade for a month (added HBO, since it ran out with the promo). Next month I went back and clicked on the new sign up promo and they honored it for me lol.

I wouldve tried again, but I was able to get my cable for free from my employer.

I just went through the online order form and it definitely seems like I'll be okay if I go this route.

But, I am willing to cancel on the spot if need be.

Our MCTV bill lists the bundle price for Internet/cable and does not break it apart by service, but it's $101 for the bundle.

However, MCTV is a gigantic pile of dog shit. It's basically getting Time Warner's technologies offered to you perpetually 5 years behind. They have a "cap" of 20 GB/ month that they don't enforce but say they have the right.

When we move were switching to AT&T, promo for the first year is pretty good.

More or less, I pay about $11.52 a month.

That is going to be the next frontier of billing. These companies have to perpetually think of new and innovative ways to jack the bill up. For many people it is reaching critical mass on the monthly payment where they can't just keep going up, so the new one will be usage tiered pricing.

It will be lik eit is with the airlines. People will only pay so much for a seat, so they exponentially jack up the price for everything you could think of to make up for it.

Not too long from now basic internet will low data will be about what we pay now, and if you even think of gaming or downloading videos get ready to start paying through the nose. It is coming.

That cap may be 250 now, but it will come down.

Ohio Internet is so much better then the options I had in Kansas. When I first moved to Lawrence, Kansas the only provider was Sunflower. They charged 100 a month for basic cable and only 4gb of Internet a month. It was 6$ a gb after that. When Uverse came it was the best flyer I have ever received.

I'm paying around $140 for cable and internet.

I think I'm going to drop it and do a special through DirecTV where I can get 200 channels and the NFL package for $50-some. Then add on internet through another company for $20.

I'm paying about $155 from TWC for tv/Internet. It's stupid and I should change the package.

For those of you who have TW and had a promo rate expire, just call and ask for them to reapply it. I did it when my Internet bill jumped and they did it with no questions asked. They didn't even try and sell me anything else.

Cable and Internet package is 178. I do have turbo RR and added sports package so id get bigten network. I use oceanic time warner.

Modem wasnt working right last week and I was having a draft party at my house. Called to see if there was a wide issue. She tried to walk me through some steps but she was a moron. I hung up on her and YouTube'd it and fixed it. They kept calling me back and eventually I answered and it was her supervisor and I told him not to worry, an asian guy on youtube showed me how to fix it, he was easier to understand and hung up. They have the worst customer service...so I don't feel bad being an ass to them

And my buddt who works for time warner in cbus went to a seminar about it and installing it. But never hears if they actually started using it in the area yet

??? You might get fiber to the curb but you aren't going to get fiber to the home. That's going to eliminate the prospect of an all fiber optic network.
