    Ill donate $3.50.

LA to NY in 21 minutes?

Would be cool to have a high-speed train in the States with thirty times the chance of death.

So my flying car is put on hold again?

Dude works on a ton of exciting stuff.

LOL, California's bullet train is such a spectacular failure...$80B for an average speed barely double normal trains?

Would still probably be a net economic benefit in the long run though.

Anyone else notice the 40 mile turning radius? lol

That would be the centrifical force factor, speed, gravity, turning ratio, cabin pressure, material stress .....

I would think it would have been greater...

lol 40 mile minimum. Wonder how many people would pass out from gforce if they fuck that up .

Yeah it's not like you can turn on a dime at that speed.

It would take like 10 seconds to make the turn

Passing out would be the least of the problem ... those with weak blatter and intestine ...shitting their pants and pissing... Clean up in Car Loop 2 Please...

I wasn't concerned with the added time, more of a "holy shit" factor. My commute to work is 45 miles each way, i can't imagine a train making that as one turn in 10 seconds. Fucking crazy.

lol someone has to test the system to find this out.

I'm wondering if this is anything like theoretical smartphone 4G speeds...in which case, the actual real world speed of this train would be more like 140 mph, not 14000 mph.
  • queencitybuckeye
If it's truely feasible, there's no reason it need be public transportation. Make it happen, Mr. Musk.

I'd feel safer on a train that's going really fast than flying at any speed on a plane.

Aren't planes still the safest form of transportation statistically?

    Yes

As for it being safe, the info graphic claims it would be the safest form of transportation. Basically impossible to crash.

Sitting next to one of those types would probably make a person NEVER want to do that again.

I don't buy that at 14,000 mph. Seems like a lot could wrong.
  • Classyposter58
Bahaha I'm not too enthusiastic about something that goes 14,000 mph that isn't in the air or space
  • Pick6
Its my understanding that the top speed of the hyperloop is suggested to be 4000mph. The 14000mph is of a project suggested in the 70s. Though im not sure how much of a difference it makes, because 4000mph is still pretty fucking fast.
