Oh well. Thank God for the freedom to live as our family sees fit. And the confidence and surety to allow others to live as they please.

Shouldn't there be plenty of time outside your bedroom for this? What time do your kids go to bed? Mine are usually by 9, and I don't go until 11-12. So there is no time lost by not sleeping together.cruiser_96;1483195 wrote:
WebFire: It's not really the time asleep that is quality, it's the stories, the reflection on the day, the plans for the next day, the time to think of others and their needs, and ways we, as a family, can reach those needs. (Our five year old daughter has come up with some doozies!) .
Sorry man, it's weird to me. -

I agree, weird and creepy to be talking about needs with little kids. He will now go by the username of creeper 96.WebFire;1483229 wrote:Shouldn't there be plenty of time outside your bedroom for this? What time do your kids go to bed? Manhattan BuckeyeIt is one thing to let your kids hop up on the bed in the morning for Saturday morning cartoons (which probably don't exist anymore) or whatever if they get up before parents do.
Having kids nearly 10 years old sleeping in bed every night with parents shows some separation anxiety that is going to lead to problems later. -
Manhattan Buckeye"One of my daughter's good friends slept in the same bed as her mom all through her life and up through high school....more mom than daughter. Now she's going off to THE OSU and I'll be interested if it lasts. Hopefully it does."
We have a family friend that was similar - slept with Mom until she went to college (shocked my parents when they found out), although IMO it was more daughter than Mom. It was weird and it didn't end well. The Mom kept living her life vicariously through the daughter and now they are both husbandless, yet still live on the same property, albeit different houses.
