Other that Politician, Lawyer, Accountants IRS and Dentist .. IT Geeks are next on my list to put my foot up their ass. Never a strength answer, always a excuse, never have the right equipment and everyone else problem, updates always creates a problem … note to IT Guy you set the fucking system up, you can off line fix it and control the up dates, up grade our computer, website carrier, you can get in to the system from your office … I pay you to make sure I’m happy…

When I come into the office, turn on my computer … it takes almost 10 minutes before I can even use the mofo. Log in, connect to file server, bring up report, website manager, download...</SPAN>

At work how long does it take your computer to fire up and ready to use? </SPAN>

I don't turn my computer off so it's always ready to go. It's also a laptop that I take home every night.

Some programs are connected to the file server and those after a peroid of time just close, you have to log back in
I tried to just let my computer run but I still have to reconnect to internet, programs and file server.

I put it in sleep mode. It takes 2.8 seconds to boot up.

If anything, our IT doesn't want us to turn our computers off at night when we go home, because if they do any software work on them, they prefer it to be outside of regular working hours, so it doesn't disrupt day-to-day work.

When I do have to restart, though, it doesn't take long at all. Unless the computer has software updates to do, in which case that can take a while. But the natural computer functions are just a moment or two.

Your IT guy must suck, as it appears he doesn't have a spell checker program on your computer mofo.

My computer starts very quickly. And I have had nothing but positive experiences with the IT department at work.

It seems to me that you have poor expectations of what your IT guy should be doing. You don't pay him to keep you happy. You pay him to assist you through problems with your software/hardware.

Have someone else type up your requests to the IT guy from now on. You'll have a better chance at getting a strength answer if they can read what the hell you are typing.

Belly is probably the type of guy who emails the IT person and says "computer not working" with no subject line, and then leaves it up to the tech to figure out what the hell is going on. Except in Belly's case, "computer not working" would somehow be a run-on sentence riddled with spelling mistakes and a vague reference to Obama being to blame.
