Boston Bomber on Cover of "Rolling Stone"

  • SnotBubbles

It's causing some outrage (for obvious reasons).

    Thoughts?

I really want to read that Gary Clark Jr. article though....

It is fucking stupid and i would like to be outraged about it, but sadly this type of shit doesn't surprise me anymore.
  • Fab4Runner
I guess I understand why some are upset, but it really doesn't bother me at all. I choose to not let things offend me more often than not. I am actually hoping the article is well-written and informative, and if so I will read it.

Doesn't bother me personally but, Rolling Stone is a ****ing joke and has been for quite a while.

    I also agree with this.

    You would! :)

A very smart PR mofo came up with this idea...they get millions of dollars in free advertising by being on every major newscast and talk show for days. American free enterprise at its best. This is what you tried to tear down Tsaernev and America always rises back up and kicks the towel heads and their followers right in the balls.

This isn't a first for them, they put Charles Manson on the cover before. I'm not offended anymore than them putting Kesha or some other garbage pop star and calling it music.
  • Sonofanump
Not surprised. The Rolling Stone has their political agenda and this is part of it.
Musicians, actors and other persons who get to perform for money like to promote their beliefs onto those who work for a living.
It has been trash for a very long time.

Hey Ray, Hey Sugar, tell 'em who we are.
  • Scarlet_Buckeye
Bothers me because it looks like Rolling Stones is putting him up on a pedestal. Looks like Prince (Purple Rain Prince) or something on the cover there.

What's the difference between the cover of Rolling Stone and the front page of a major newspaper (which he was on after his arrest)?

So putting a pop artist (with an annoying act) on the cover of Rolling Stone is equivalent to putting the face of a terrorist / murderer on the cover; giving him more exposure for his crime.

    Gotcha.

The cover of Rolling Stone has long been almost an award for musical artists. It's ultimate recognition that the "rock and roll" industry accepts you and you've made it. They put people on the cover because of their accomplishments and fame.

So what are they saying about this guy?

They applaud terrorism and it&#8217;s not his fault, we need to be a nation of people who care about one another, not a nation of producers or workers, it takes a village to raise a child and we as a society failed him, Islam is a religion of peace and Christians need to be tolerable of these types of actions, Bruce Springsteen and the Dixie Chicks don&#8217;t want us trying to prevent this type of action happening by force, we need to talk to those who need our help.</SPAN>

    This is how I feel.

Did you type this behind a pulpit?

    Precisely.
  • dlazz
I couldn't care less because I don't read Rolling Stone.
  • GoPens
So? Hitler, Stalin (twice), and Khomeini have all been recognized as Time's Person of the year.
If they're doing a story on the Boston Bomber wouldn't you expect his pic on the cover? I'd be far more concerned with the content and slant of the article than the fact his picture is on the cover.
  • Classyposter58
Eh I don't like the fact it looks like Bob Dylan or Jim Morrison in the cover. Kinda making him out to be a rockstar, however they did call him a monster
  • Pick6
Yeah, let's encouraged these mentally challenged fucks to commit some more mass murders or bombings so they can get their "fame". Seems like a great idea.

    Does not compute.
