Obviously the powers to be in FL realize just how badly the State Prosecutor has handled the Zimmerman case and are already assuming he is going to walk out of court a free man. Check out this crazy video which FL Law Enforcement is promoting to curb violence once the "Not Guilty" verdict is announced. Check out what part of the population this message is aimed at...talk about your "Black Fear Mongering" this is really unbeievable even for this state of redneck, confederate flag waving, cracker idiots. -
like_thatIf it happens, just be sure not to call them a bunch of animals.

Belly35Why! A "not guilty is verdict" by a selected jury is legal and the law.
So the Black community riots because? They made this a racial issue and lost… and thay makes it wrong
How about the Latino Community has a parade because justice was served correctly and fairly. -
thavoiceJust thinning of the herd.

Classyposter58Oh look at that, Blacks don't like the verdict and plan massive riots. They ruined pretty much every Midwestern city with this crap, now they're gonna go crazy all over Florida

TedShecklerThe media should be blamed for any "unrest" after an acquittal, due to the unbelievable lack of real information on the case they didn't put out there.
Anyway, to those animals that plan on rioting, you guys got OJ and two elections. It's our turn. -
Tigerfan00You mean people are gonna be taking out their anger on Twitter and Facebook. This day will forever be remembered on the internetz.

You're apparently unaware of the thousands, upon thousands of tweets about rioting, looting, etc. Let me emphasize, THOUSANDS. I have yet to see one tweeted by a white person.Tiernan;1470211 wrote:http://personalliberty.com/2013/07/09/law-enforcement-agencies-in-florida-prepare-for-possible-violence-after-zimmerman-verdict/

Me?Let us not forget, the media is also calling Zimmerman a "white Hispanic". They're perpetuating all of it. They set it up to be a riot from the beginning when they used a picture of 12-year-old Trayvon. The worst part is, the President even poured gas on the fire when he spoke out about it. Is it alright if I call him a "white black" by the way?

I believe he prefers to be called Kenyan. -
Me?Only in certain circles.

gorocks99White hispanic is the technical term, per the US census. Hispanic is an ethnicity, white is a race. White black would imply mixed race, not a subset of an ethnicity.
-
Me?I think you get the point. There is a clear media narrative to make George Zimmerman as white as possible.
-
Me?For which, there is no other reason than to stir controversy and attempt to create more breaking news for them to cover.

gorocks99I agree it's certainly what sells the most. If he was a black Hispanic, it wouldn't have made the news for more than a day, which is ridiculous IMO.
A big part of that is them, a smaller part is the public that wouldn't give two shits about the story and dismiss it as "same old news" if it were perceived black-on-black crime. Basically, it's ridiculous that the same story with different races means a totally different reaction, in both coverage and interest. -
Heretic
Same here. This case is the flavor of the month and everything about it's being drawn out of proportion. And, depressingly, the whole "out of proportion" part seems to be specifically designed to draw out as much racial shit as possible where it's less about an actual criminal case and more about a "white (hispanic) vs. black" social thing. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, I think a lot has happened to improve race relations. Things aren't perfect and (speaking as humanity in general) we have room to improve, but things are better than in past eras, at least. But with cases like this and how they are presented by the media to the public, it about makes things feel like we're in some old-time lynching sort of situation, where nothing at all has improved. Fuck it; fuck it all.Ironman92;1470255 wrote:I like post #2 and #3 the best.
What happens, happens. If Florida riots and burns, no big loss. -

The city you live in is a perfect example. Guns have become a very explosive topic in the world of media, and a topic that drives ratings. However, they don't want to mention Chicago because it's not some crazed lunatic white kid, stealing his parent's guns and going on a killing spree. Even though they assure you the fight against guns is to protect people, save people. But it doesn't fit their narrative to have the worst gun violence in the country happening continually in a gun free zone.gorocks99;1470269 wrote:I agree it's certainly what sells the most. They're also exceedingly lazy about dealing with the root cause of the issue, which is (IMO) not guns/gun availabilty, but rather the institutionalized attitudes among the poor, black communities in Chicago (that is, the prison/gang life is seen as the way to gain respect).Me?;1470274 wrote:The city you live in is a perfect example. Switching off the gun ban - which is somewhat curbed with the passage of conceal/carry - won't solve the shooting issue, most gangs aren't getting their guns legally anyhow, and won't if/when the law is changed, and the vast majority of shootings aren't taking place in places where people are most likely to go through legal means to obtain a gun (affluent areas on the north side, which account for ~2% of shootings in the city).
FWIW, I think having a ban on firearms in the city is ridiculous, but lifting the ban isn't going to magically solve the problems, just like instituting the ban hasn't.
