saw them both over a decade ago, and even then they were on the way out. They make 8 songs last 5 hours, it's ridiculous.vdubb96;1469314 wrote:Great thanks! -
vdubb96I've seen DMB a few times, never O.A.R. Long songs don't bother me.

derek bomarSaw them play together when Poloaris/Germain was around back in the day. Good times. I like OAR and DMB... being outside listening to jam bands is way better than country/metal/pop/(fill in blank garbage)

sportchamppsI love jam bands but sadly I won't be attending
-
Raw Dawgin' itJam bands are like reggae bands, they all sound exactly the same.
-
cruiser_96As for "jam bands"- I worked a Wide Spread Panic concert once. DEATH!!!!!!!!! Absolute worst!
To answer the question... No. -
ohiobucks1I saw OAR/Andrew McMahon on saturday. Great fucking concert...Although I liked Andrew Mcmahon more. I happen to like OAR but don't necessarily love them. They are fun for a while though.

brutus161Saw O.A.R. For the first time about a month ago. It was a great show.

Me?DMB is the best live band in the world, also among the most talented collection of musicians that has ever collaborated. If you can't appreciate that, then I question your musical acumen. Hilarious to see someone saying that DMB was on their way out 10 years ago. They've never been bigger than they are now.

Me?They just played a venue that they've now played 3 years in a row. 2012 had one repeat song from their 2011 set there and this last one had one repeat from 2013 and none from 2011. So in three years, they've put together 3 stellar sets with 60-some different songs. Hell, yearly at the Gorge, they play 3 nights in a row with no repeats and they're all top notch sets. Name another band that can do that...don't worry, I'll wait.

There isn't many. Phish is obviously one of them along w/ many other so called "jam bands". I could really give two ***** about seeing O.A.R. I know the wife and her friend will think it's great. I've never seen a bad DMB show.Me?;1470473 wrote:They just played a venue that they've now played 3 years in a row. 2012 had one repeat song from their 2011 set there and this last one had one repeat from 2013 and none from 2011. Pearl Jam can, and does, do the same thing at the Gorge. PJ at the Gorge is possibly the best show I have ever seen live.Me?;1470473 wrote:They just played a venue that they've now played 3 years in a row. 2012 had one repeat song from their 2011 set there and this last one had one repeat from 2013 and none from 2011. Me?I'd love to see that show.

Terry_TateNever replied to this but was there tonight. OAR only played 45 minutes but they were solid. That was my first time seeing Dave Matthews Band and wow they were awesome. 2 hour and 40 minute show. They did a great job on don't fear the reaper which was pretty cool. Definitely will see them again if they come back.

So they played about 5 songs? -

Think it was 8.
But seriously, they played 21 songs so averaged just under 8 minutes a song. -

A little bit of a stretch to say some of the most talented musicians to ever collaborate. They are good but nothing they play is really that difficult or innovative from a purely technical musician standpoint. That's not to say he is a bad songwriter or that I don't enjoy some of their music.Me?;1470472 wrote:DMB is the best live band in the world, also among the most talented collection of musicians that has ever collaborated. Although whenever they have had Victor Wooten play bass with them, that guy is one of the best bass players alive or ever honestly.
