Dayton is most def better than it used to be that is for sure.

    2. They likely made it 65 because that area is growing and won't be "rural" for too long.
I get why it's 65, b/c it's usually heavy traffic. With the digital markers, they could change it during peak time, and make it 70 during off time.

Dayton is a bitch. Northbound was better than southbound, though.

    I say again...Dayton isn't that bad.

If you want to deal with real traffic, come visit Columbus and use the 670/71 interchange.

LOL at people bitching about traffic in Ohio. Come visit the 405 out here in SoCal around 3:30 PM and tell me about your traffic issues then. Yes... 3:30 PM.

Same here in Honolulu. Mostly because there is 2 ways in and out of downtown. But from 2:30-7pm. It's wall to wall. Takes about an hour and some change to go all of 10 miles every afternoon. Same thing going into town in morning. It's awful.

As far as ohio, did they make the outer belts 70 too? Like 270?

Being back around DC last week reminds me of how spoiled we are in Ohio when it comes to traffic.

I would like to know the slowest speeding ticket on here for 270. I typically have to go the East way around and going 80mph 80% of the way has never been a problem.

    Nope. Rural interstates only

Coulda helped me in GA last week...got one for doing 84 in a 70...$228 smackaroos. And before anybody asks...no I wasn't drunk...yet.

Bump the speed limit to 80 or remove it completely and I'll celebrate.

But I did notice when I travel that on roads that aare 70 the traffic flows better.
A certain amount of the pop will travel the speed limit.
Certain percentage will travel at a speed they feel comfy at.
Certain % will speed 10+ no matter what.

I think in states that are 70 that you have those who drive teh limit, and I think many of those who drive at a speed they are comfortable at, 70, merge together and get a better flow
You are correct sir. When the turnpike went to 70 it made a huge difference, semis weren't dragging ass like they used to, and out of state travelers weren't such pussies anymore. Seems like everyone driving thru drives slow as balls

Thank god for the express lanes! takes me 30 minutes to get from the south bay to downtown LA. although the only time i dont see heavy traffic is about 5am on a sunday. other than that its horrible at all hours.

Yeah, but what do you do when you don't have a co-passenger with you to get away with using the Carpool Lane?

Not anywhere close but living in Tucson is a bitch as well, because there's no highway system around the city so to go 10 miles north to say, a golf course, it's all on traffic controlled roads. Plus you get completely random times for traffic to get backed up. I've been on a 5 mile drive that took 30 minutes at times ranging from 1:30 to 7. It's always bad between 4:30-5:30.

Have you ever driven in any other city in the world?

I learned to drive on the express way at 70MPH that was the standard speed at the time. When did they lower it and when did they bring it back to 70 MPH Hope this helps

What does it matter what is is posted speed on the Express way or Turnpike I go 10 mph over and some times 13mph... Hope this helps

Depends on where you are coming/going from, most of NE Ohio, 71/77/76 are not 70 MPH because they are near cities (Akron/Canton/Cleveland). If you look at the link (blown up map) you see that around all major cities the speed limit did not jump. That includes the whole stretch from Cleveland all the way down to Canton.

Is Dayton still all fucked up construction wise

Lexington, KY. Every little bit helps. I don't usually stick to the speed limit, but it'll raise the speed I can do without getting a ticket a little bit.

The express lane is different than HOV, its just a toll lane that works on the honor system. You dont need any passengers but you just have to pay a toll if its just you. I mostly use the 110, so not sure if they have the express lanes over in the OC

I got burned tonight. Turned off of a 4 lane highway onto a county road near South Point. I worked 5 summers for the county highway department and those roads are 55 mph unless marked and are 35 mph right before town. I am on a county road nearing South Point but an not sure I'm going the right way....not going fast at all, pretty much browsing to find the school......I see a police car in a parking lot so I thought I would pull in and ask him if I was going the right way...as I turn in he pulls behind me and turns on his lights! WTF? I didn't have the foggiest idea what I had done. This kid, I swear looked 15 and got me going 37 in a 25? I asked him how it was a 25 mph on a county road immediately off the highway.....he replied because the sign says 25 and wrote the ticket for $150.

Screw that insane speed trap....and as we waited 20 min on my ticket cars were just cruising by one after the other. Lol

Yeah, 75 through downtown is condensed into two lanes. Most of the exits from 75 to downtown streets are closed as they're rebuilding the ramps. The only time I've ever seen traffic problems is between 5pm - 6pm on a weekday, which apparently is the end of the world for ETB.

No, but she did tell me about a time OJ Mayo was in a car next door to her house. She was really excited about it. I wasn't.
