How did you/do you/would you wear your socks if playing today?

    Socks up?
    Socks low?
Stirrups? I played in the late sixties and early seventies....Stirrups socks UP!
Ever since Ubaldo has been rockin' stirrups...he been pitching well ;)

Wore pants up until the summer after freshmen year of high school. Then wore them down the rest of the time with a handful of exceptions. I wore stirrups for a week in college.

    Socks up when I played.

Socks up when I played and when I played youth baseball, we had the stirrup socks. Basically the white tube sock with a colored stripe down the side. After that I wore solid colored socks, pants just below my knees.

In Little League, I rocked the high colored socks. After that, I wore stirrups every year through high school.

Wore high socks up until JR yr HS then went to pants all the way down.

Stirrup socks in little league until 8th grade when I played on a travel team that had solid colored socks. Wore them down for the most part but would wear them up on occasion. Same with high school, has solid socks that I'd alternate. Never wore actual stirrups but would have liked to.

Stirrup socks worn up from little league through high school.(late 60's to 1979)

I played in elementary school and I don't remember how I wore my socks.

    Hope this helps.

Pant legs just below knees and stirrup socks pulled way up.

    I'm old.

I mandated my kid wear his pants bloused, 1 of 2 on the team, and it looks so sharp.

    That looks stoopid.

Bloused pants are the worst. I went High Sock Sunday, every day of the week.

Baseball players being concerned with how their stockings look is even more evidence it's a gay sport.
  • HitsRus
stockings? Did somebody say stockings?

According to the MLB poll....today's ballplayer wears their socks 'down' almost 3-1.

What I don't understand is this...

...where the pants are dragging on the ground. How do you not trip on that?
  • karen lotz
It would be rather difficult to trip over something that's on the heel of your cleat. Most of them cut a hole in the pants and have the back spike through the hole.
  • Raw Dawgin' it
    always wore low
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Stirrups or striped socks, all the way through high school. The pajamas look is ridiculous, Manny Ramirez is simply the worst of the offenders. MR is probably a pretty well built guy, but looks like a pillow.
  • bases_loaded
Solid socks pants just below the knee in baseball.

Slow pitch softball pants are to the shoe.
  • justincredible
    Socks up. Always.
  • Tiger2003
    Always wore them low.

If you are running properly your heels shouldn't be hitting the ground.

lol^^^. I loved watching Cecil Fielder run ( Prince Fielder's dad). The standard line from our family when he'd come up to bat :"Hey Cecil....Oink, Oink,...too many cookies!" That said... he was a great hitter.
