I didn't see it, and I am just telling you what our vet told us.Raw Dawgin' it;1447120 wrote:If it's asleep, why not just bag it's head and bury it? That doesn't seem as bad to me as watching my dogs brains get splattered. -
Belly35Sorry bro, I'm sure it hurts ..... good news is time to start over.
We take our pets to be put down at the Vets. they inject them and they fall asleep slowly. We stay in the room until it over and say our last good bye. We get plaster of their dog paw with name and dates for keepsake.
I thing I will be facing this soon with Murphy our fifth Golden sad to think about.. -

i understood what you wrote, i was just piggy backing off that. I get shooting your dog to put it down, but you can't unsee it after or forget that you just shot your dog.Fab4Runner;1447128 wrote:I didn't see it, and I am just telling you what our vet told us. -
Gblockhow much do vets charge for putting a dog down? do they dispose of the dog as well?

I agree, which is why I could never do it. Even my stepdad couldn't. After we moved, we began taking our animals to the vet to be put down because there was no friend or neighbor to help us.Raw Dawgin' it;1447132 wrote:i understood what you wrote, i was just piggy backing off that. QuakerOatsSorry to hear. Won't be easy for me when the day comes.

Depends. Can be anywhere from $125ish for euth and disposal to $300-350 for euth and cremation. -

Exactly Fab4Runner... Vets are paid to do this (selfish on my part) but I would never personally put one of my dogs or any friends dogs down either. Vets gotta do it unless they go out on their own.Fab4Runner;1447138 wrote:I agree, which is why I could never do it. Even my stepdad couldn't. Actually, when you think about it, a vets job is to save and treat your pets when they need it and put them "down" if they need it. Hard core job!!!
Its a fine line . I was going to start something on Dr. K. but I'm still cleaning fish. -
FatHobbitThere is no way I'm paying $100 to have someone put a pet down.
