Arizona - PHX/Scottsdale and Tucson. I've enjoyed visiting my brother and college roommate numerous times.
Illinois - Chicago is my favorite big city.
Maryland - Love the area that my ex's family is from on the Severn River.
Hawaii - Never been, but I imagine it's fantastic.
North Carolina - Love the weather and there are some great vacation spots.
    South Carolina - ^^ Samsies
Texas - Austin seems like a place I would enjoy.

That's all I've got. I haven't visited a ton of states, and then there are those I have but am not a fan of (Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Indiana among them).
    Annapolis is awesome.

    1. Ohio- I love central Ohio.
    2. Montana- I would love to have a 10,000 acre cattle ranch in northern Montana
    3. Florida- Key West specifically. Mostly for the fishing and boating
    4. Alabama- either Gulf Shores or in the northern Tenn. River Valley
    5. New York- Western New York is absolutely gorgeous. Politics are really driving this one down my list, as just about everyone outside of NYC is sick of the shit.
    6. Minnesota- Love the outdoors.
    7. Vermont
    8. Maine
    9. Texas
    10. Tennessee- Eastern half of the state.

I second this. My friends wife is from there

Haven't traveled that much, so some of these are educated guesses. In no particular order...

North Carolina - Love The Triangle area and wouldn't mind living somewhere on the coast either
Virginia - Especially during the Fall
Vermont - Kind of isolated, small-town New England feel
New Hampshire - Same as Vermont
Maine - Same as VT and NH, but along the coast
Washington - Near Seattle, don't think I'd mind the gloominess at all
Oregon - Near Portland, similar to Seattle
Colorado - Outdoors, skiing, snow, etc
    Montana - Open range, peaceful
California - Really only the SF Bay Area because it's my kind of weather almost all year

I do like Ohio, though, for the most part.

    1) Oregon- Currently live here, and for me it's the best spot in the country. The only downside is dealing with obnoxious Oregon Duck fans. The only reason I'd leave is if I lost my job...
    2) Washington- Close to Oregon and a similar lifestyle
    3) Ohio- It's where I grew up, all my family is there, and all my favorite sports teams. I loved Columbus during college, and really think Ohio is a great place to live. The biggest downside of living in Ohio is listening to a significant portion of the people there bitch about living there. If you don't like it move, otherwise STFU.

    4) Montana- Only if I had the cash to buy a ranch in middle of nowhere.
    5) Maine- Never been there, but think I would like it.
    6) Vermont- Same reasoning as Maine
    7) Colorado- Some small town in the Rockies would be nice...
    8) Alaska
    9) California- Only the Northern part. The cost of living is crazy, but there are tons of good things about the area, the coast, national parks, wine country, etc...
    10) Louisiana- This is only if my wife left me. I'd go on year long Jambalaya, booze and boob filled rampage through the streets of New Orleans. After that year I'd move though, as I don't have enough willpower to live in New Orleans fulltime...

    1. New York -- my family is from the northwest part of the state, and I really like it. Not sure how much I'd enjoy living in NYC, though.
    2. Florida
    3/4. Either of the Carolinas
    5. Texas
    6. California
    7. Tennessee
    8. Oregon
    9. Wisconsin
    10. Arizona

Agree. I lived in Severna Park right near Annapolis for several years.

Annapolis is Awesome but Maryland is awful.

I visited DC recently and was dumbfounded at the traffic there. I'm not sure I could make it there for more than a year or two before I lost my sanity.

    1. New York
    2. North Carolina - Two reasons. The ocean and Duke. I'd like to live east of the Triangle to enjoy the former, but close enough to see any game I wanted. Have spent many summers in Durham working the Duke Basketball Camp, and it's a wonderful place
    3. Massachusetts - Have family in Boston, and the city is one of my favorites to visit in the world
    4. Nevada - Only because I'd like to live in Vegas for at least a year or two at some point in my life
    5. Washington - Have always loved the rain -- I am a dark person who enjoys occasional gloom -- and there is plenty of it in Seattle. Plus it's a really cool city and the Sonics make it a great basketball town.
    6. Arizona - Phoenix. Close enough to Vegas to go for the weekend and play the tables and enjoy life a little, and also perfect weather (aside from the high kidnapping rate)
    7. Alaska - I love winter and the solitude wouldn't bother me at all. Perfect place to drink and take drugs. Also some of the best sledding in the world
    8. Montana - Simply because A River Runs Through It.
    9. Anywhere but Florida (too humid and creatures that can kill you)
    10. Anywhere but Texas (too many creatures that can kill you)

I don't include Ohio because I live here, but it'd be in my top five. It's a good place to live.

Where do you live in Oregon? One of my roommates from college lives in Portland. He loves it there, but says he'll eventually move back to Ohio because of family.

I have probably driven my car about 30 miles since moving here (a little over a year). So, the traffic doesn't really have an effect on me. It is pretty shitty traffic though.

I've been to 48 of 50 states... (AK and HI are the exceptions)

My big dislikes are humidity, and rain, and heat. So, that takes out the south and the northwest. I do not like hurricanes, or earthquakes. I do like mountains.

So, my top ten is, in no particular order:

    Maine
    New Hampshire
    Vermont
    Pennsylvania
    Ohio
    Michigan (u.p.)
    Colorado (mountains only)
Idaho (northern, near Couer d'Alene or north/east of Idaho Falls)
Montana (near Kalispell through Glacier NP)
Wyoming (Yellowstone/Grand Teton area to Cody)

I would say Utah, because of it's amazing natural beauty throughout the southern half. But, it's basically inhospitable except for tourists, and the industries relying on tourists. And I just get a weird vibe from Mormons. And the further south you go in Utah, the more 'fundamental' and 'Warren Jeffs' they become.

Could you post the map again of the counties that you've been to in your Grand Prix. It was pretty unreal.
