Pure Michigan

ernest_t_bassI don't know how far these commercials reach on TV and radio, but I hear them and see them in my neck of the woods. They have Tim Allen as their voice-over, and every ad makes me want to take a vacation. Fuck University of Michigan, but this advertising campaign is very well done. Detroit and many other shit hole cities can easily bring the state of Michigan down on their own, but the rest of the state has some great areas.

Anyone hear these, like these? Again, perfect ad campaign.

SonofanumpYeah, makes me want to head up to Mackinaw, Traverse, Petoski, Sleeping Bear.

gorocks99It's a good tourism campaign, agreed. West side of the state up into the UP is gorgeous. Actually getting married in ~2 months in the Southwest part of the state (close to St. Joseph)

My family loves St. Joseph. Perfect place/beach to take children. Very kid friendly.gorocks99;1444367 wrote:It's a good tourism campaign, agreed. West side of the state up into the UP is gorgeous. Actually getting married in ~2 months in the Southwest part of the state (close to St. Joseph) -
justincredibleAgreed with OP. I really want to take a trip to Michigan when I hear/see the ads.

IliketurtlesYeah I remember hearing/seeing them all the time back when I lived in NW Ohio. Always made me want to go visit the beautiful places of Michigan.

Wow, so they make it down to Cincy? I wonder if this is a nationwide campaign.justincredible;1444376 wrote:Agreed with OP. I really want to take a trip to Michigan when I hear/see the ads. -

Classyposter58The golf up in the northern part of the state is unbelievable. Seriously some of the best courses I've ever played is up there, I regularly play around Traverse City. Have family who live on Cedar River in Shanty Creek, a really awesome place

And then I remember... It's Michigan! -
Laley23Michigan is awesome. If you get far enough north, it seriously rivals some of the best places in the country.
The lakes on the borders are amazing and the trout fishing (fly fishing in general) only gets better if you head to Montana, imo. I love to fly fish and I have been to MANY places in the country. Alaska, Montana and Northern Michigan...in that order. Just gorgeous.
I have been spoiled with my family owning a big cabin in Grayling, Michigan my entire life. -
fan_from_texasI was in Lansing this week for work. Not nearly as pretty as the commercials led me to believe.

I'd assume you'd have to seek out the beauty? -
said_aouitaMy uncles place in the middle of nowhere up around Saginaw was fun growing up. Dirt road and acres through the woods. Uncle Bill had a cr-80, cr-125 and two cr-250's. The cr-500 had a paddle rear tire and was pretty much only for the dunes, my uncles favorite toy at one time. He's had multiple snow mobiles everything from a Rupp old school racer to the new Polaris models. He even had for years an old "Big Red" model Honda 3-wheeler.
Now he's retired to his Hog in Florida and I don't only mean my aunt.
Side note- all those snowmobile trails the state has marked are great for long runs.
F*ck Ann Arbor. The rest of the state ain't bad.

There are plenty of thai restaurants, though. Maybe it's the cultural beauty the commercials are talking about.fan_from_texas;1444831 wrote:I was in Lansing this week for work. Not nearly as pretty as the commercials led me to believe.
