Maybe it would help if you realized that the girl was somebody's sister;)

If the goat had sounded like a certain Italian stereotype...no one says squat.

How in the world does this get produced? I don't know how many people would see this/sign-off internally, but how could no one notice? The goat was a risk, but an all black line-up? Really?

And even then, you'd still have some feminazis saying how this commercial promotes violence on women.

This should be a great marketing case study. How many ways can you go wrong and offend?

This is what always baffles me, as well.

It gets approved because it gets people talking about Pepsi. They get press and by the weekend no one will give a fuck. It's doing exactly what they wanted.

You could be on to something there. Pretty crafty way to exploit social media. Don't even have to pay to air the thing. I think a few companies did something similar with the Super Bowl.

If black men werent violent criminals, there wouldnt be a stereotype that black men are violent criminals.

We're talking about the ad, which is exactly what they wanted. It doesn't even matter that it exploited stereotypes, all they care about is that people are talking about Mountain Dew. Think anyone will stop drinking it because of this ad? Doubt it. Hell, some people may drink it because they like their don't give a fuck attitude. I honestly think they went into it expecting backlash and were going to air the ad until there was enough outrage for them to pull it.

Didn't even think it was that racist, just an example of people being overly sensitive. I thought it was funny.

I guess they coulda had a white guy in the lineup, but the guys in the lineup and the guy voicing the goat are part of the same group.

Agreed. And the commercial was stupid in my opinion. However, I'm not sure who exactly has the problem with it or who is calling it racist. I mean, I would think black people get it. And I doubt white people are smart enough to see the joke is on us. And aside from all that, if you had seen the first two parts, you would know it wasn't a "battered white woman." It was a woman who had been attacked by a @#$%ing goat.
