Probably... But I don't know how anyone could possibly sleep through all that.

20 block perimeter? That's close to 4 square miles. That's a frickin' huge area to search.

Wonder if the dude forced to walk naked will end up suing Watertown, Mass state police, etc....

I do feel for Sunil's family. They truly seem like genuinely nice people and not a family you'd expect this from. They are gonna be scared for their lives when they've done nothing wrong. Sad

He should have listened when police told him to stop walking toward them.

Saw a tweet earlier there were 9000 police officers in the area. That might help conduct a search of that size.

I saw a twit that NBC is reporting that suspect is foreign and has military training? Haven't been able to find the original source. So, whatever that's worth. Doesn't sound like Tripathi

Door to door for four square miles plus it's not like theirs a corn field in that perimeter.

I'd hate to be some poor dude out for an AM run in Watertown this morning.....yikes.

Now they are talking about the two suspects may have lived together and their residency in a concern.

Wow...I guessed 2000 earlier and thought that might be a decent ball park. One of the things that stands out tonight is we have a MASSIVE amount of law enforcement we can quickly mobilize...within our borders. And 9000 probably isn't even the "ok, let's get serious" number in city the size of Boston.

What would you consider an even more serious incident?
  • Shane Falco
    Well this is alittle intense.

That's not what I'm saying. That number probably isn't close to what they'd bring in a "martial law" situation. 9k is a huge number but I'm sure they could bring a lot more national guard and military if needed.

Good news, Verizon employees going to get a day off. Turning people around trying to get to work

    yea yea, just razzin ya'.

If the cops don't find the suspect within a few hours I would not be surprised if the nat guard is called out.

Is it a call center in Watertown or you talking about the center in C-bus?

Pretty sure national guard is already there in some capacity.

they said there was an industrial area inside perimeter and named Verizon employees, don't know if a call center or store.

I have a friend that lives 5 minutes from Watertown & where most of everything took place & she even saw the cops surround her workplace on TV... Been talking to her on Facebook trying to calm her down a little... Her boyfriends niece was best friends with the little boy that died @ the Marathon Bombing
  • gut
I've definitely seen National Guard there.....Been at least 3 hours since things "calmed down". But sounds like they may be waiting for daylight to start the search.

About time to retire for the night. Send me news of our victory in the morning. Alive if you can...dead, just as well.
