Glad to be back...and f*$& you HP!!

    Pointless thread, cool story bro, all will apply after this post.

    I came back from spring break and my laptop keyboard (which hadn't been used for a week) wouldn't work. Whatever, I have a full warranty, file a claim with HP. Since I use my laptop to take notes in class I paid the $15 extradition fee. Again, whatever. That was March 15 that I took the laptop to fedex to ship back.

    2 weeks later, nothing, no emails, nothing. I call HP service and of course it's a foreign call center they can't do anything. I call HP case management to file a case to get them to do something. Finally the guy tells me that the computer's in the service center but nothing's being done. That day he sends me an email offering to just replace the laptop, but it went to spam and I didn't see it for 3 days until he called me and asked me about it. It's now been close to 3 weeks and still NOTHING. I tell him I accept the damn offer but to just send me the hard drive from my old one. 2 days letter I get an email that NOW my laptop can be worked on and that they canceled my new laptop offer (which would have been there the next day). Finally I get an email Friday telling me the laptop will be there today, which it was.

    1. Glad to be back since I enjoy it here but I was too lazy to check constantly from my phone. Missing march madness on the OC sucked.

    2. I'm never buying HP again.

    Never bought another HP after my college laptop ran at like 900*C due to some BS defective fan and heat dissipation design which they wouldn't fix.

    That would have made my life easier. I would have gotten a free replacement within 3 days, rather than worry about them trying to fix it.

    My old Asus caught fire as well before I bought my Acer.

    I know your pain. The Hard Drive in my computer just went bad, it would randomly shut off. Sent it to Acer 3 times...each time they said nothing was wrong with it. They wouldnt give me a new computer. 4th time was the charm....after I bitched them out a few times on the phone and they put it on "priority" or whatever.

    HP's consumer laptops are trash. Their Elitebook line is pretty good.

    We use all HP at work and have no problems. For $15, you could have bought a keyboard and installed it in 5 minutes.

    HP is notorious for terrible consumer laptops/hard drives. They used to make the gen 2 and 3 ipods, but they were such shitty quaility with hdd failure rates over 50% that apple took their business elsewhere. I know back in ~04 I had a g3 ipod (HP made) and went through 7 in that yr. They had to increase my warrenty bc harddrive kept crashing, even after they sent me a new one. The 3rd one they sent me crashed the same day I got it.
