  I have seen quite a few people play that card, I wasn't pointing the finger at you. Also, I am just a smart ass in general in real life. Some people can take it as me being an asshole. I guess I just have a higher threshold of getting my feelz hurt. Lately when I post something that is probably worthy of an infraction or basement ban, I link the post to the basement anyway.
  
  Maybe you should provide a poster with a "hurt feelz" meter, so we know who we can give a hard time.

  If the poster is a douche and he is just being a douche on every single thread, then go ahead basement ban him. However, if it is something like sleeper talking about ND sucking ass or how LJ is an expert in everything, I don't believe sleeper should be basement bant. Whether some posters want to believe it, he actually provides quality to threads.

  I agree that sleeper provides quality to threads in instances. There are times that we even agree on different topics. However, I'm not sure how you can say that he doesn't cause problems on ND threads?
  
  I personally and we as mods don't have a problem with people being critical of a team. I'm critical of ND and agree with Sleeper's general assessment (up until this past year when ND finally did something to prove they were going to be something more than glorified relic of the past). But I don't make it my business to constantly antagonize ND fans.
  
  Just the same, when someone constantly antagonizes OSU fans the person is thread banned and receives infraction. There was a poster on the college basketball forum who was pretty much like Sleeper but towards OSU basketball. We treated him the same way (thread bans and subsequent infractions for repeated behavior).
  
  The issue isn't having a negative opinion and voicing it. The issue is doing it ad nauseum to the point that it's just to antagonize others.

  The tricky part of the thread ban concept is that it's not one poster taking a shot at another poster that's the problem, it's the others piling on and effectively ending the topic. Has nothing to do with hurt feelz.

  I never said sleeper doesn't cause any problems. You can simply ban him from that ND thread, and he can complain about it in the basement. Being basement bant is not warranted. Not surprised you will defend any basement ban though. We are talking about the same person here that basement bant me for saying you were being a dramatic little girl.

  To answer Justin's question, its terrible moderation. No consistency what so ever. Its basically F4F being a dbag rule monger. Best threads on these boards are the ones where he stays out of it. See Browns thread for an example top 2 thread on the forum and the one time he tried to come in, he was promptly told to GTFO. There was undoubtedly more posters a yr ago when the moderation wasn't the key issue. You've recently started a "everyone get along" campaign that is pretty much bullshit and not what this site is about. Maybe you're getting too old for this riggs.

  Pretty much spot on. In the Browns thread we get into a lot of shit, and none of those guys have left or stopped posting in that thread. In fact, the only posters who have stopped posting in that thread are the posters who were victims of petty moderation (see: DW and Hoops).

  Ok, so you agree that he causes problems. And we have just used thread bans instead of the more permanent infraction system. But we don't necessarily want to continually play baby sitter and constantly clean up after people who insist on repeating their behavior that has earned them thread bans.
  
  How I personally view my moderating responsibilities is that I will do what is necessary. But I'd rather people just behave in a semi-reasonable fashion. I understand that sometimes people for whatever reason are more abrasive than normal. I understand sometimes people will post something that they might want to take bake later. For example, with the past RDI incident, I was originally of the opinion that because he relatively quickly deleted the picture from the first thread he posted it on that we should show some leniency. But then he posted it on the basement and that was kind of the nail in the coffin as far as the temporary full ban went.
  
  We don't get ANY kind of reward or positive reaction for thread banning, infracting, warning, etc. All we want is for people to for the most part/majority of the time be reasonable. It's the continual bad behavior or never ending back and forth that becomes the issue. For example, if a poster is constantly antagonizing ND fans, eventually ND fans will start to return the favor (we've seen this pattern before), then other OSU fans jump in a we're in a cycle of constant bickering about petty issues that aren't really relevant or pertinent to on going games.
  
  That's just my view for the most part. I think some other mods share my sentiments but I don't know if all necessarily agree with me as we are all different people. We have different viewpoints, and that's a good thing as it provides balance.

  I think part of the problem is a misperception that I'm somehow a rogue mod against the opinion of all the other mods. I tend to do a lot of the work when other mods report a post or even justin says something needs to be taken care of. I have access to all the forums so I generally try to help out in most (I avoid Politics as that is LJ's and the HS football forum as I don't follow it at all).

  Very long winded way of saying QQ lets all get along QQ. Also, I highly doubt you dont receive a "reward" for infracting. You love it. I bet you want to infract me right now. You finger hovering over the infract button?

  L O L. I've recieved PMs that are contradictory to this statement. But what ever helps you sleep at night. No one likes you/wants you to be a part of this site. If you weren't a mod, you would leave bc everyone would hurt your feelz and there would be nothing you could do about it.

  Yes, because it is so fucking hard for you to click the "thread ban" feature. It isn't tough for you to go arnold commando style with infracting people, but banning people from threads is? LOL
  
  I didn't read the rest of your post, because I don't need you to explain your modding methods. Your modding methods are 100% fail. I think the amount of posters who think you suck ass as a moderator speaks for itself. Your "please hear me out" speech is going to fall on deaf ears, because most of us think you are a shitty mod.
