Vacation on the beach suggestion
-
Belly35Last week I was planning a surprise week long vacation for my family of 11. The plan was someplace on a lake in Ohio, Ky, Ill, Ind and WV well that to hell quickly.
Cat out of the bag and everyone want to go to some ocean front vacation.
We normally go to Hilton Head but I want to go someplace different if I'm paying the bill...
Any suggestion OC. -

Ocean city, MD, outer banks, NC, myrtle beach, SC, wild wood NJ. These are all places I've been and they are all pretty nice. I've also been to Rehoboth beach DE which is about 30 min north of ocean city. If your looking for a quiet relaxing place I'd go with the outer banks(duck or corolla) or Rehoboth beach. -

I spent many years vacationing in gulf shores. My grandma used to live in Foley. Probably my favorite non party type beach destination. Although the Florabama is a damn good time if its still around -

Ironman92My family loves Virginia Beach.....prefer it a good bit over Myrtle

AutomatikMyrtle Beach is a hell hole. I was there last August.
North Myrtle is nice though.
Destin? Or somewhere else on the Gulf Coast? I've never been, but one of my good friends lived in Destin for a while. He'd always send pics making me jelly. -
Fab4RunnerI am a big fan of Ocean City, MD. Have been there three or four times and it was always a blast.

Did you like Corolla? We stayed there one year and didn't like it at all. We always go to Holden Beach. Nice and laid back, but close enough to North Myrtle to go down there for a day if you want to.Crimson streak;1418687 wrote:Ocean city, MD, outer banks, NC, myrtle beach, SC, wild wood NJ. Benton Harbor, Michigan and have a choice of Silver Beach County Park, Rocky Gap Park, Jean Klock Park or Tiscornia Park.ernest_t_bass;1418761 wrote:Eastern shores of Lake Michigan.
Kidding. Can't go wrong with Hilton Head, other than the prices I suppose.

I liked it because it was just relaxing. We rented a house for the week. While it wasn't very close to the main parts of the outer banks it was still refreshing and I didn't mind driving a bit. Plus It was close to the wild horses and i got to drive on the beach a lot lol. I'm going to ocean city 4th if July week. Rented out a house with a friend of mine and it helps it's only about a 2&1/2-3 hr drive from my house -

We stayed on the 4x4 beach, and it was cool driving on the beach approximately one time. All the other times it was a pain in the ass. It took 30-45 minutes to drive 9 miles, then there isn't much of anything in Corolla.Crimson streak;1418803 wrote:I liked it because it was just relaxing. We rented a house for the week. ActionJacksonTell the 11 if they pay they can pick, otherwise you pay you pick, and beaches are over rated. I have a cousin on Lake Erie in Mentor and one in Catawba Island. I'd pick Cedar Pt & those islands.

My wife mentioned something the other day about going down there at some point. Hopefully we'll make the trip next year. We'd go this year but already have a road trip to Texas and week at Ocean City, NJ planned.Commander of Awesome;1418685 wrote:Gulf Shores Alabama
