Ammo report

Fly4FunI didn't realize I called everyone who buys ammo crazy. Like LJ referenced in his post, I love the crazies who are stock piling ammunition and the resulting "run" on ammunition, hence the hysteria part of my first post.

But even then it needs the qualifier of "stockpiling for absolutely no legit reason". For example, my uncle reloads his own pistol rounds, he has 50,000 primers left. With all the comp shooting he does, he would be lucky if that lasted him 1 1/2 years. On the other hand you have the guys who have 50,000 primers who will never use more than 500.Fly4Fun;1418644 wrote:I didn't realize I called everyone who buys ammo crazy. Fair enough. I was extremely vague in my first post so I can understand how people could take offense or be defensive about it especially concerning the political leanings of this website to begin with.LJ;1418647 wrote:But even then it needs the qualifier of "stockpiling for absolutely no legit reason". I have nothing against people who own guns. I think there are people who are responsible with them and I have no issue with that. My best friend is a US Marine officer and of course he has a few guns that he shoots with. But any time I've watched him handle it, I don't worry. He never does anything dumb such as point it at someone. Nor is he irrational about the state of our civilization and living under the assumption that we are on the verge of the collapse of society and the subsequent post-apocalyptic wasteland where a person will need an excessive amount of ammunition stock-piled to last for the rest of his life.
The crazies that I reference are the people who are stock-piling because of such a fear of that situation.
But on the same token there are people who just don't know how to handle a gun. I was at a person's parents' home a couple months ago. The father recently bought a gun and wanted to show it to us, he just sits down at the kitchen table, pulls it out of the storage box and inadvertently points it at another person (not aiming, just not conscious of the fact that you should never point a gun at someone out of safety).
I'm no gun enthusiast nor do I plan to ever own one. But I'm not anti-gun person. I've shot rifles (range), shot guns (clay pigeons), and hand guns (range).
I was just making a quick comment; I didn't mean to offend so many people. -
Devils AdvocateHow much?
Let's put it this way. If my house catches on fire, I will not even take the time to call 911. -
Crimson and Gray HairA firearm without ammo is just a club - still useful, but not quite the same!
BTW - I just came from the grocery store. There was a decidedly slim supply of yogurt. -

It was just a counter comment to his. I wasn't offended, I just find that there are a lot of people that throw around words like "crazy" any time the discussion of guns comes up. I see it a lot on facebook with my ultra-liberal friends and it just gets annoying after a while.Fly4Fun;1418644 wrote:I didn't realize I called everyone who buys ammo crazy. I put in a deposit on an SR9C on Feb 8th. They said it would be 2 weeks or so. I'm still waiting.WebFire;1418631 wrote:It's not just ammo and guns either. I ordered a custom made holster on January 7th. Their normal delivery time is around 6 weeks. Mine was just delivered TODAY. -
sportchamppsActually anyone paying the current prices for "ammo" are crazy. Unless you are down to the end of your supply the ammo prices should continue to drop back down to their normal prices over the next 3 months.
-
sportchamppsI have a good friend with an FFL according to him shops are starting to get back to receiving their normal shipments now. He said his store is getting close to going back to the normal range of shipments a month.

mcburg93A facebook group has a lady selling .22 bag of 50 for $12 lol. The guys are giving her all kinds of hell for it. She said she paid 10.50 per 50 and only wanted to make a little off of them.

Pick6The old guy I bought my ammo off of in Canton sold me a box of 100 at regular price.

Belly35Democrat Socialist Party will be targeting ammo with additional tax, ammo registration and limitation of purchases.. </SPAN>
This is not about Sandy Hook or the prevention of violent crimes against innocent people, to the Democrat Socialist Liberal Party this is about the limitation of rights, the restriction of our freedoms, and control of the people and the destruction of the Constitution. </SPAN>
UN Arms Agreement is just another example of the clueless Socialist Democrats that rejects the Constitution for a foreign agenda over the American people they represent. </SPAN>
Nothing that has been purposed would have, will or in the future prevent the action of delusional individual deemed to destroy others lives because of their dysfunctional behavior. </SPAN>
Where to being is in the family unit, building of a pride, prosperity and respect, in the school where teaching is the focus, teaching of facts and the discovery of truth is the byproduct. Open completion and achievement is rewarded and failure is where learning begins. Pride in our country and respect for those who protect it and secure our communities. Where mental health is not a condemning faith but an openness to support help and overcome. This is where the politician should be addressing, because this is where the answer to the problem begins.</SPAN> -
