Bracket destruction

gutFunny, I was thinking this year that it's increasingly chalk because the tournament committee has gotten so good at its job.
But actually it seems parity, at least outside the top 5 or so teams, is really taking hold.
A #1 seed still has not lost a first round game (gawd I HATE them calling that R2 and those meaningless 4 play-in games no one watches R1).
However, three 15 seeds have won game in the past two years! Two 12 seeds (or was it 3?) won this year, keeping that trend alive. But you also had a few lower seeds than that - and Marquette narrowly escaping Davidson.
Once again all proving why March Madness is the best 3 weeks of the sporting year. -
gutAnd let me vent about Marquette...First I made the BRILLIANT (or so I thought) pick of Davidson. Then I had Butler all over that for the Sweet 16.
GFY Marquette, for winning two games you shouldn't have. -

I cannot agree with this more.gut;1412912 wrote:And let me vent about Marquette...First I made the BRILLIANT (or so I thought) pick of Davidson. Then I had Butler all over that for the Sweet 16.

Outside of the Olympics (which is every 4, arguably every 2, years), what is better? -

World Cup. Only thing that compares to March Madness.gut;1412943 wrote:No I am not.

Ehhh, acceptable answer but disagreeMulva;1412947 wrote:World Cup. Only thing that compares to March Madness. -
sleeperI'll take March Madness over anything else on the planet; sport or not.

pmoney25I love March madness but the quality of basketball is terrible for the most part. So many teams and players who have such a hard time making a damn basket.

The few days around New Years of constant Bowl games is more enjoyable than a few weeks of college basketball.gut;1412943 wrote:No I am not.

Tigerfan00Those cheerleaders are butt nasty, barf. They must be ghetto girls.
/gut'd -
like_thatI am a fan of March Madness, but for me outside of the first 2 rounds, it kinda gets boring. You normally have less upsets in the later rounds, and the tournament just moves much slower.
Give me the world cup any day of the week. -

You forgot to add that they are fat, and anyone who thinks they are hot needs to get out of their hicktown.Tigerfan00;1412988 wrote:Those cheerleaders are butt nasty, barf. They must be ghetto girls.

Am I wrong? It is a great marketing ploy and the gambling aspect is what draws most people in and makes it as huge as it is but the quality of play is not very good. Between one and done, the ridiculous three point line and overall lack of talent, college is not what it use to be and this is coming from someone whose favorite sport is basketball and have watched/played bball for most of my 32 years of existence.
I would rather watch NBA playoffs than March Madness. -

Yeah....maybe worldwide but the time spent on brackets and predicting and flipping back and forth between games......AND THIS IS DONE BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COLLEGE BASKETBALL, but are huge into this....those people aren't doing that for the WC. -

I agree with this, (outside of the world cup part, not a fan of soccer so I never pay attention to it) I love the first two rounds of the tournament due to the amount of games and crazy things that happen every year, but after that I lose a lot of interest, unless of course my bracket is still alive and I could win some money.like_that;1413001 wrote:I am a fan of March Madness, but for me outside of the first 2 rounds, it kinda gets boring. For me the best two times of year are the bowl games and the first four days of MM. -
ernest_t_bassI know nothing about futbol, don't really like futbol, and I am glued during World Cup.

TiernanWorld Cup is only watched by millions of spics, towel-heads, slants and euro-trash. March Madness is pure USA American baby!
-
sleeperI love the world cup, but I only watch when the USA is playing. The only thing I don't like about March Madness is that I have to work Thursday and Friday.

BigAppleBuckeyeI always went with two in the pink, one in the stink, but met someone from Wichita State yesterday who says two in the goo, one in the poo. Deep thoughts ...
