Still doesn't mean you're an athlete

This was not a half court shot. She was an easy 5 feet over the line.

I'm sure any soccer player that can do that "throw-in" like that could probably do the same. I realize that's not all soccer players, but I'd be willing to bet its more than people think. Of course, the "lucky" part is actually "making it." I'm not saying they could make it EVERY time; just like this bitty prolly couldn't make it the next 10 times she attempted it.

And I'm sure she didn't do it to prove so. She made a cool shot that none of us here could make. Props to her.

She is an athlete. You may have a basic lack of understanding between what is a sport and what is an athlete.

I know a girl who was a cheerleader and also a point guard for the girls bball team in high school. Now starts for her team in college.

Nobody is saying all cheerleaders are athletes.

This. IMO cheerleaders are a helluva lot more athletic than XC runners. I mean, all runners do is run

I'm not sure why some sports fans insist on putting sports performers on a different level than people highly accomplished in other pursuits. For example, a world-class dancer is every bit as much the athlete as a great ballplayer.

She's been practicing for months. Theirs plenty around here who could make the shot eventually with enough tries.
She does look better in a skirt than most of us I'm sure.

    Still not an athlete.

Do you have to athletic to run the 3000 meter steeple chase with it's water jump and barriers? How about if you run the 3000sc under 10 minutes? How about having a time limit on events for runners to be considered athletes?
    :)
I politely disagree that leading a cheer requires more athletic ability than someone running fast.

What about the tumbling she is clearly capable of doing? Backflips, front flips, handsprings....those don't require athletic ability?

Anyone with 2 legs can run the 3000 meter steeple chase.
