Anyone familiar with Dallas?

  • Benny The Jet
My wife is from about 50 miles east of Dallas and we visit often. I REALLY like the Rockwall area. It's an up and coming area, has a nice size lake that the city centers around. Only about 30 minutes outside of Dallas. We've talked about moving there ourselves.

2 of our best friends are heading there as well. Atl is too ghetto for me and Phx to far west.

    Congrats !!!

Don't know much about Dallas. Spent 6 weeks in San Antonio, Basic Training, and swore I'd never live in Texas again !!!

Had a friend go to grad school at GA Tech and I visited him. I actually really liked ATL, didn't find it ghetto. Though you do need a car which is annoying for a big city.

YOu never heard that saying before? Means ya spent time some place and it felt much longer than it actually was! Did see that lady from American PIckers tho...she seemed pretty stuck up, and the Frank guy who looks like a little troll in real life.

Think it felt so long because I slept on the floor at the Ontario California airport the night before and got no sleep. Just as I started to doze off they started to wax and buff the floor and those damn mini zamboni things they used were loud.

My sister and her husband lived in Plano for 10+ years and hated it. The weather is so unbearbly hot in the summer you literally can only walk from one air conditioned place to another. Can't do anything outside. Also, cannot go to a park because there are fire ants all over the place. The only plus to Dallas is the real estate. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Traffic is also a nightmare.

P.S. Congrats on getting married. When did this happen? Fantastic pic of you two. You look very happy.

    Watch out for Sue Ellen!

My cousin lives in the Frisco area and loves it. Up and coming areas all over, and all sorts of BBQ and tex mex places. I don't know much more than that, other than there are a ton of lakes around the area for fishing. I'm actually heading to south of Dallas next week for work. Don't know about Phoenix, but Dallas was def the pick over Hotlanta. I hate that city.

Frisco is an area we will be checking out.
