Gamers, Need Your Help!

  • se-alum
So, I'm thinking about getting back into gaming so I can play online with my friends and family. I'm going to go the XBox route. My question is, is the 4GB console good enough or do I need something bigger? I haven't played any games since the original Halo on XBox, so I'm a little out of the loop.

I'd get something bigger than the 4gb if you ever plan to install games to the HD or download any map packs, etc....At least 20gb

I'd definitely think 4GB is too small. I have a 20GB and it's too small. You may want to go 60GB or thereabouts, although I will say I'm not sure on how MSFT's cloud storage works.

No. :D Everyone that I would play with is on XBox.

I had a feeling this would be the answer. I had no idea how big the map packs and stuff were.

And going with a larger HD is good for other reasons too.

    1. Copying games to hard drive helps as far as load times and such go.

    2. I've read before (but don't know 100%) that it also helps with the lifespan of the system because it's not constantly working to read the disc or something like that. And considering that the main negative about the 360 has been its frailty, if I hear that something helps it last longer, I tend to do it.

Craigslist is awesome for used consoles. If you do buy new, keep your eyes peeled on slickdeals and you can sometimes get a good deal on one.
