"Storage Wars" Star Commits Suicide!
-
IggyPride00I just saw on TMZ that Mark Balelo from Storage Wars committed suicide over the weekend after being arrested for drugs.
He was the rich guy on a few episodes that spent a small fortune on some units, and claimed to find a $10,000 Ninetendo that was only worth $30 at appraisal time.

He was on the original one (based out in California I believe). I only saw one episode with him, he just showed up and bought everything.justincredible;1387386 wrote:I've never seen that guy on any episodes I've watched. -
WebFireHe was only on a few episodes, hardly a star of the show.

ytownfootballSaw the episode where he thought he had the nintendo worth a boatload, they ran it up the pole like he was the poster boy for 'tards.

That. There are a lot of games/systems out there that were in limited production and are super expensive.Fly4Fun;1387416 wrote:http://blog.pricecharting.com/2011/08/13000-nes-001-on-storage-wars.html
Quick example I found just now:

I think there's a super-rare PS1 out and about too.

I know there are some really rare NES games out there that can fetch a pretty penny. But I do not recall ever seeing a NES system worth much. Seems like the top loader is the most expensive and you can get them for less than $100.dlazz;1387417 wrote:That. The article I posted basically explains that he most likely remembered the fact that the auction withan NES and 5 games sold for $13,000. However, he didn't realize which part of the auctioned items it was that was actually the item driving up the price (the very rare boxed game Stadium Events). So he thought that it was the NES that was actually the valuable part.justincredible;1387424 wrote:I know there are some really rare NES games out there that can fetch a pretty penny. ytownfootballI don't remember why he thought it was worth a lot, but if I remember correctly the damn thing didn't even work.

Just saw this on Pawn Stars last night. Two cartridges from NES for the Nintendo World Championship (NWC) with a gold plated cartridge being 1 of only 26 made in 1990. Combined value at $30,000.justincredible;1387424 wrote:I know there are some really rare NES games out there that can fetch a pretty penny. But I do not recall ever seeing a NES system worth much.
