tk421Anyone who is waiting for Congress to compromise and do anything that is for the good of this country is going to be waiting until they are dead.

Azubuike24I actually have always wondered this.
Why can't U.S. Citizens opt out of receiving any mail correspondence? Like literally, no mail is allowed to be delivered to this address. It would need to have some extensive verification and it would need to be updated/renewed every so often, but why not?
Obviously, you would be at a big disadvantage in many facets of communication, but it would be nice to know the legal stance on this. -

I don't think this is a true opt-out, more for folks who want to disappear from the government's rolls entirely:Azubuike24;1423764 wrote:I actually have always wondered this.

Yep. Unless I've ordered something from Amazon or somewhere, I never get anything worthwhile. Four or five different telephone books a year (speaking of wasted money, why the fuck is a rural area like where I live worth 3-5 different companies all making their own regional phone book?), a bunch of advertisements and generic spam applications for credit cards and shit.ccrunner609;1423849 wrote:all i get in the mail is junk mail.
It's gotten to the point that unless I've ordered something and am expecting it, the only time I check my mail is on Thursday, when I take my trash down to the road for pick-up. -
dlazzMail is necessary for multiple reasons, though there should be the option to opt out of solicitation mails.
