Only children are weird. Have two.Pick6;1372891 wrote:none. Only want 1, or two at most.
I have none. Would like to have three or four (really hoping for four as long as I/we could afford them). -

you're fucking weird!Fab4Runner;1372926 wrote:Only children are weird. Have two.

You're welcome My mom is an only child, so I do have a basis for my statement. Also, she hated not having silblings. Wound up with five children of her own and two stepsons haha.queencitybuckeye;1372933 wrote:Thanks. -

Interesting. My father was one of ten. Of the nine that lived to adulthood, the oldest seven each had exactly one child.Fab4Runner;1372938 wrote:You're welcome My mom is an only child, so I do have a basis for my statement. Most of them are perfectly normal and highly accomplished. I'm the outlier.FatHobbit;1372948 wrote:Are the seven only kids really weird? -

lol. I was an only child. If I had a nickel for every time someone has used me as the cornerstone of an "only children are weird" argument...I'd at least be able to pay someone to take out the first person who did so!Fab4Runner;1372938 wrote:You're welcome My mom is an only child, so I do have a basis for my statement. Raw Dawgin' itOnly children are less dependent.

If we are going with generalizations I think they don't play as well with others either.Raw Dawgin' it;1372997 wrote:Only children are less dependent. -

This could be true - but depends on up bringing. I had lots friends in my neighborhood so we all got along, but I could also entertain myself. My wife is one of four and can't be by herself for my than 5 minutes without getting bored.FatHobbit;1372998 wrote:If we are going with generalizations I think they don't play as well with others either. -

In general, there's probably a decent amount of truth to that. I've run into people who can barely stand to be alone for five minutes, something I can't identify with at all. I don't get a ton of "just me" time, but I need the little bit I do get.Raw Dawgin' it;1372997 wrote:Only children are less dependent.
Off topic, what was our bet for Nash's points for this season? Want to adjust it proportionally? -
Fab4Runner
I was raised by an only child who taught me to be as independent as she was/is. I started making my own doctor appointments in fifth grade. Not a huge accomplishment, obviously, but I had friends who couldn't/wouldn't all the way into HS.Raw Dawgin' it;1372997 wrote:Only children are less dependent.
Also, I love having a huge, crazy family, but I relish my alone time. I love to read, write, watch TV or just hang out by myself. -
