Mega

So Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom released his new file hosting service, Mega (mega.co.nz), this past weekend. Mega is the successor to Dotcom's wildly famous website, Megaupload. I'm a little confused because I thought people were against this release due to piracy concerns. Yet, when I read up on how Mega works, it sounds like people upload their files, but you can only download them if you know some encryption code. Why would anyone ever hand out their encryption code? This doesn't sound as user friendly as some of the other sites out there.

What's everyone's thoughts on the new site?

Sounds like it's more go a Dropbox / Google Drive website than a Demonoid / Piratebay site.

It appears to just be cloud storage.

That's pretty much how I see it too.
So how's it going to be a big piracy concern?

It appears that they are working on a system where you can message files to your contacts. So I think to acquire movies, music, docs, etc. you need to have that member listen in your contact list.
