Justified - New Season (Possible Spoilers)

  • se-alum
First two episodes have set up quite a few storylines. Anyone watching?
  • Commander of Awesome
Watched the first season, great and started the 2nd season. Then got side tracked, need to go back and finish it. Good show though.

Yep, its pretty damn good so far.

Glad to see that scumbag Duffy back

I'm interested to see what happens with the barmaids husband. Kinda seems like he and Raylan may be on the same side.

Never heard of this (I don't watch much television, sans what I already know about and look up on the interwebz). What's it about?

I really dig the show. I was hoping Boyd's dad would've been around for more than the first 5 or 6 episodes or whatever it was though. I really like Raylon and Boyd.

I didn't watch last nights episode yet but I'm hoping Patton Oswalt isn't going to be in it very often. I just can't take him seriously. I realize he is playing a goof but still.

This show rarely has an episode that disappoints. With a solid Season 4 it will slide into my #5 slot of all time TV shows probably.

"Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is something of a 19th century–style lawman in modern times, whose unconventional enforcement of justice makes him a target of criminals and his U.S. Marshals Service bosses alike. As a result of his controversial but "justified", quick-draw shooting of a mob hit-man in Miami, Givens is disciplined by being re-assigned from Miami, to Kentucky. The Lexington, Kentucky Marshals office's jurisdiction includes Harlan County (a hopelessly impoverished, backwoods, coal-mining community in southeastern Kentucky)—which Raylan hates, and thought he had escaped for good, in his youth."

I've seen every episode and love the show.

The only thing I hate about it is his Office is in Lexington and they make it seem like Harlan Co is just down the road. It's about a 3 hour drive from Lexington.

My Dad was born in Harlan County and I have relatives there. I was just down there in April. I'd love to live down there, but there isn't any jobs.

Sometimes they do. But for the most part I think they do a good job of showing that they are going on a "trip" to Harlan. Often he gets back and its very late as well (bar close, wife asleep, etc) which shows how long it took to get home.

So there isn't going to be a big villain this season?

True. Just think if Harlan is that corrupt they'd have an Office or satellite office closer to it. Maybe Corbin...like it's real life. Lol.

[SP]Good start to the season but I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed there isn't going to be a big villain.[/SP]

I figure the thread title is enough of a spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't watched the show but just in case I threw the spoiler alert out.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks

I'm a tad let down with this season. I mean it's good but I miss having a central villain. You don't get much better than the dynamic between Boyd and Raylon though. I love both characters.

I feel the same way. I like the central villain a lot, particularly Mags Bennett and Season 2. But, I do like the central plot in this one, they just havent spent enough of each episode on it (the bag found in the wall). I have a feeling its about to get crazy the last few episodes though, and I might change my tune. But right now, I agree. Just there is a chance this season could be crazy at the end with how they have taken this plot so far.

Yeah, I mean I still enjoy the show immensely but I really liked season 2 with the Bennett family (Mags and Dickie in particular) and last season with Limehouse/Quarles. We'll see how the rest of the season plays out though.

I really think it's building up for some crazy finish to the season. Hope I'm not let down.

This has been the best season yet. I just hope they can end the season since at this rate there will be nobody alive. I mean this season is nuts because unlike the previous seasons Boyd and Raylan may very well be way over their heads

I'm shocked Arlo was killed off. Good scenes usually btwn Raylon & Arlo.

So, anyone have any guesses about who Drew Thompson is? Do you think it's someone we've seen already?

The ole lady thinks it is the county sheriff.

That's my best guess as well.

Called it. I think we all saw it coming though.
