There's not much you can do about the price because it's typically done on a pass-through basis. E.g., if it costs $100,000 a month, and you have 1,000 customers, they each pay $100/mo (it's slightly more nuanced than that--fixed costs, debt service, usage rates, depending on the municipality). Many utilities have programs for people who can't pay. It might be worth calling and inquiring if they have a hardship program. They might be able to set up a payment plan or help in some other way. -

iluvzMine averages 140-160. Our electric is on the same bill. Usually total runs $250-280. I dread getting that bill every month.
