  But I'm not really concerned or interested in arguing about why I, or others, were or were not banned. I was simply using it to point out that generally the mods seem to rush to ban people who are toeing the line of appropriate/inappropriate. Yet someone using the real name of an underage rape trial participant, clearly only here to troll a thread about the rape, is not banned two days later. I'm curious about why that is.

  It's not against the rules to use a random high school student's real name as your screen name? Is it not also obvious that the user's entire intent is to troll a thread about a 16 year old getting raped?
