Seriously some cop with a handgun is an easy target for a guy with an assault rifle. Not to mention it sounds redneck as hell.
Also LOL at the nra for blaming video games
Stopped the guy at the Oregon mall.

You see how well it worked out at Columbine when there was an armed officer at the school at the time of the shooting, who even fired at Harris

    1. An AR-15 is not an assault rifle, learn a little about the equipment before you make false statements.
    2. You are incorrect as MANY active shooters have been stopped by citizens with guns.

WTF are you talking about? I never mentioned any type of gun? I'm talking about any general guy. One guy with an assault rifle is going to take out a guard with a handgun who doesn't have any idea by who or when the attack will happen.

Only looked at the first two links and guns didn't stop those shootings, they were killed as they were the shooting leaving. There are countless examples of guns not stopping shootings, those are the ones we hear about all the time unfortunately. The problem is the shooter is always going to have the upper hand because he is the only one that knows when it's going to happen. We put a guard in school, they kill the guard first, then shoot up the school and have an extra gun and ammo to use. They usually commit suicide afterward. Do you really think the possibility of getting shot is going to stop them.

None of these mass shootings (off the top of my head) have been done with actual assault rifles. You and I can NOT obtain an assault rifle. Now, the media and uninformed people believe guns like an AR-15 and similar weapons are assault weapons because of the way the LOOK.

Dude, I don't give a fuck about semantics, this is completely ignoring the discussion in this thread about how batshit crazy the nra is and how stupid it is to try to put armed guards in the schools. You can call it a BB gun for all I care. All that matters is AR-15 or any rifle>hand gun.

You posted this article, and that is one reason I support guns. But there is a big difference between this kind of "heat-of-the-moment" shooting and some kid coming to school with a plan.

Remember, I'm not against guns at all, but I do find it stupid to try to add guns to the school setting. It's just not going to prevent things from happening.

A kid going to a school with a plan is EXACTLY the scenario where law abiding citizens who choose to have a CCW, and just happen to work at a school, SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CARRY IN THE SCHOOL.

Which is a better option than putting an active guard in schools but the problem still is the target is too easily identifiable. It's going to be an adult and probably a male. I know everyone on here's wife is a firearms expert and mixed martial arts savant, but an average teacher is not and I doubt they could hold it together in such a time. Makes it easy to identify and eliminate the target and makes it more of an inconvenience than something that will prevent these things. Unfortunately there may be no truly good solution. What we have obviously isn't going to work if a person is determined and aside from turning schools into a prison there not much of a good way to stop it.

Also I would like to commend you for actually having an intelligent discussion and not resorting to just name calling. I only wish there was more of this on here.
