That's a myth. Just like sleepers myth about the downtrodden white male.Iliketurtles;1343122 wrote:I always thought the black thing to do was dated thick white women with big tits.
Dude is an idiot but I think that ESPN is doing this for ratings. I would love for this clown to interview RG3 -
adogParker was indeed suspended. ESPN probably had no where to go but suspend him with all the negative views sent there way:

se-alumThis is precisely why I don't watch anything on ESPN other than ballgames. It's been a complete joke for years now.

This. I also watch the Midnight SportsCenter if I am awake. That usually is packed with all the days highlights and little talking. Plus, I like Stan Verrett and Neil Everett.se-alum;1344398 wrote:This is precisely why I don't watch anything on ESPN other than ballgames. It's been a complete joke for years now. -
lhslep134It's all about Highlight Express if I'm looking for highlights on ESPN

Can you imagine a conversation with Jamelle White, That Withlock or whatever his name is, and this guy? Hell, they could question the blackness of the blackness of black!
I bet RGIII -
friendfromlowryESPN must have told him to shut it down completely because he hasn't tweeted since December 13th.

First Take is absolute garbage. I use to be able to watch it but now I can't stand it. I don't care if Skip Bayless, Parker, Stephen A. Smith, etc. are all fueled by ESPN to act the way they do to get ratings - they're still annoying. I'm with the rest of you; I might watch briefly to catch some highlights, but my TV is never on ESPN between 9am - 7pm.se-alum;1344398 wrote:This is precisely why I don't watch anything on ESPN other than ballgames. not accepted. Parker is a racist. What he said isnt something that came out in a way that was misunderstood. He showed his true colors of what a POS thug he is.
-
GoChiefsWhy the hell did it take him so long to issue an apology?

I like first take better than its original format of Cold Pizza. That show was all over the place and sucked. Couple of decent looking women on it if I remember but it was a bad show.friendfromlowry;1345453 wrote:First Take is absolute garbage. I use to be able to watch it but now I can't stand it. Its when guys take opposite stance on things when you know that they cannot truly believe what they are saying, but have to do taht to make the show as you have to have differing of opinions. -
Azubuike24From a pop culture perspective, this guy got really screwed over by the timing of the CT shooting.
Before this, nobody knew who he was or cared what he said, but at least he had a job at ESPN. Now, nobody knows his name or cares what he says, but they do know him as "the guy who made the racist RGIII comments" and he is probably 100% done at ESPN. -
Commander of AwesomeApology not accepted either. See Sig.

TiernanWas Rob Parker a thug once in the NGBA*?

Because he isn't really sorry, and the network probably told him he had to issue one in order to be reinstated. It's hilarious to see his "apology," especially after seeing all his tweets after the backlash hit where he basically defended what he said.GoChiefs;1347366 wrote:Why the hell did it take him so long to issue an apology? -

Googled his name and saw this guy has a history of being a tool. Started a rumor about Kirk Cousins getting into a fight (led to suspension by Detroit News), complained about the lack of African American coaches in the NFL, and called Hank Aaron a coward for not attending the game where Bonds broke his record. What a dolt. ESPN HAD to hire this guy just for the outrageous stuff that he says.sherm03;1347620 wrote:Because he isn't really sorry, and the network probably told him he had to issue one in order to be reinstated. jordo212000Dude is a POS. You don't accidentally say what he said. It wasn't a slip of the tongue. What he said was one of the most racist things I've heard in some time.

That's pretty much what I was going with. If he was sincerely sorry, he would have issued an apology before he was even suspended.sherm03;1347620 wrote:Because he isn't really sorry, and the network probably told him he had to issue one in order to be reinstated. eh, if anything he was "lucky" he said it now....if there was any time that it COULD possibly have slipped under the radar it is now in a time when people were trying to wrap their heads around what a sicko did.Azubuike24;1347418 wrote:From a pop culture perspective, this guy got really screwed over by the timing of the CT shooting.

Azubuike24I was being somewhat faceteous. What I meant what he's a nobody. If you've heard him before these comments, it's clear he was a bafoon anyway. All this did was take the only thing he'll ever be somewhat notorious for and make it forgettable.

Little DannyRob Parker's comments were out of line and he deserved to get canned. That being said, ESPN is partially culpable here. ESPN knew his views when they hired him. Stephen A. Smith always portrays the Angry Black Man. Going back years ago, the knew where Rush Limbaugh was going to go as well. In short, ESPN has always hired a bunch of race baiters simply because they know the topic drives ratings. IMO, if there would have been no backlash on Limabugh (and now Parker) they would have continued to push the envelope.
