When's the last time you Lol'd? Watching tonight. God awful

I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud while watching it. It's been bad for a while now but every here and there they will have a decent sketch.

There's a few sketches and characters that make me lol on Saturday Night Live.

Whenever they do "Drunk Uncle" on Weekend Update, I usually get a good laugh. I also laugh whenever Stefan comes on Weekend Update. I talked to the guy who writes the Stefan sketches. He said there is always one cue card that they throw in that Bill Hader hasn't seen. You can always tell which one it is because Hader starts cracking up laughing.

The bruno mars one earlier this season was ok the rest have sucked. Basically the only way a snl is good these days is if they gets great host like Timberlake
  • BRF
One of the greatest, imo, was recently on the Town Hall Forum debate.

    But usually, not so good.

    1996.

The Homeland sketch was funny (if you are a fan of Homeland) ... too lazy to get the link, but look it up, good stuff.

I go out on Saturday nights, so it's been awhile, but based on the re runs it looks god awful these days. The funny sketches that come to mind:

Bush/Gore debates (Bush portrayed by Will Ferrell)
    Peyton Manning United Way
Dick in the Box (tried to get my fraternirty pledge class to use this song/routine for this pledge dance competition we were a part of, but we would have been DQ'd immediately)

This. Show has been/is absolutely pathetic for a very long time. Much like the simpsons, it should be put out of its misery.

Man, I can barely remember. I think the last time I watched it, the main humor was watching Jimmy Fallon crack up during every skit he was in because dude has no composure.

The entire show? Probably the 2004 and 2008 seasons. All those election skits. Pretty much everyone involved in those skits has moved on to more successful projects though. I was recently in D.C. at the "Newseum". There was an exhibit that shows the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler as Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton skit. They also had the outfits they wore during those skits. Pretty cool.

Recently? Probably watching Jay Pharoah play Stephen A. Smith, or Katt Williams. He's easily the funniest guy on the show.

Kennan Thompson stole Jim Nortons material. Fuck that show.

Doesn't surprise me. But what material did he hack?

Jim Nortons "Chip Chipperson" character. Kept using his voice and punch line "that don't make no sense!"

They played it on Opie and Anthony and it was a clear rip off. I'll see if i can find the video.

That sucks. I've had friends that live in NYC say they've had characters and jokes ripped off by cast members of SNL and writers on The Office. But since they aren't famous, they are pretty much just fucked. Norton is famous enough that they can't get away with that.

Glad O&A called them out for it. That's bush league.

You can't see it's a rip off because you're too busy sucking peckers...cocksucka.

Ripoff...what is it? A bandaid or sumpthin? tss tss.

Haven't watched it since the early 1980's when the last of the original cast left. The only other subsequent stars comparable to the original cast are Eddie "Keel Ma Landlawd" Murphy, Joe Piscopo, and Adam Sandler.

After that the show has basically sucked.

Charles Rocket was the best SNL player in 35 yrs.

With no offense intended, Jim Norton must really suck, because nothing that comes out of Keenan Thompson's mouth is funny. I think God made him fat so that the pies and burgers gorging his face would snuff out the horrendously-delivered jokes that he attempts every Saturday night.

Last year Elton John hosted and was musical guest.
That was one of the better ones in several years

It's from a character he does on a radio show, not part of his act. lol so if anyone else stole it then he'd be a funny guy?

I'm 3 sketches deep tonight. The first was funny, the second was horrible, and the third was ok.

The "Who's the Bitch Now?" skit was the lamest thing I've ever seen. Can't believe Jamie Fox agreed to even do it, he strikes me as fairly intelligent.
