Feel Good Stories

ernest_t_bassFirst - Let's refrain from trolling this thread, please. I'll report every derailed post
What are some feel good stories, being the "giving" season and all, that you have heard or seen lately? There is this obvious one:

And my wife just told me a pretty cool good samaritan story this morning, and here is the abbreviated version:
- Lady with 3 children (wife's friend) has a flat tire right in the middle of a busy intersection.
- Discount Tire is literally 100 yards away.
- People are honking, driving around her, and one nicely dressed man stops, and asks if he can assist her in getting her car to Discount Tire.
- They get over there (she's waiting on her mother), and the man asks her if she realizes she'll need all new tires eventually.
- She says yes, but they've been putting it off, but plan to... just can't afford it right now.
- Her mom gets there, and the man has left by now, knowing that she is in good hands at the business.
- Her mom goes to pay for the one tire, and learns that the learns that the unidentified man has paid for a brand new set

TiernanHere's one...
the other day I helped a lady with 3 kids get her car out of an intersection and into a nearby tire store. While she was involved with her kids I secretly paid for an entire new set of tires for her vehicle and then slipped out the back. I do this kind of thing frequently during the Hoildays. -
GoChiefsComing home from work one day and I saw a well dressed family with a flat tire. I turned around to give them a hand. Changed their tire for them and found out they were on their way to Columbus because their son and his wifes baby was on the way. Turns out their son was my college roommate from Athens that I had lost touch with after we graduated.

Cool story, bro. I also like your other cool story, bro, about the insurance or whatever. Was definitely a cool story, bro. You should add that one too.GoChiefs;1333388 wrote:Coming home from work one day and I saw a well dressed family with a flat tire. I turned around to give them a hand. From that thread....
I had one good experience with an HR department at a former employer. The policy there was when you lost your job, you had insurance through the month of your last day worked. We found out my wife had cancer and the surgery was scheduled for August 6th. Middle of July, I was laid off with about 40 other people, so my insurance ran out at the end of July. The doctor couldn't push the surgery up or anything so we were pretty much stuck with paying for it. August 2nd, HR woman calls me to return to work the next Monday, the 4th. I was rather confused knowing that I was say down on the seniority list, but I didn't ask any questions and reported to work the next Monday like I was supposed to. At lunch that same day, my Supervisor came around and told me that I was laid off after today and that it would be my final day of work. They brought me back for one day just so I would have insurance through August and my wife's surgery would be covered. Can't thank them enough for that. -

mcburg93I have been hearing how random people have been picking up the tab for people. Guy paid for one of my friends food at Mcdonalds drive thru. Some lady paid thirty dollars for a friends gas. Small gestures like that show there are still good people out there.

Belly35Our church has a Gifted Program.
We have small business card with our church address that states You Been Gifted.
What we do is pay for people food, grocery and whatever. Yesterday the wife and I were at Giant Eagle and this lady with two kids was buying groceries. We over heard the mom tell one of the kids that they couldn’t get something because she didn’t have the money right now. The wife run up to the check out bought a $25.00 Giant Eagle Gift Card, found one of the Giant Eagle workers to give this lady the Gift Card and our Church Card. The Giant Eagle worker was told not to tell who did this, just hand her the cards and walk away. As we where checking out we saw the lady with the two kids in line she was crying. The next Sunday at the late service we saw one of the kids in the hall way.
I enjoy doing this and so does the wife. It a good way to give and help someone now. -

HereticI was on the phone with an uncle I hadn't talked to in a long time and he was telling me a feel-good story I found heartwarming. Apparently, a couple punk kids broke into his house and this sort of thing had happened to him before, so he was ready. He got his gun and took care of the problem, but then found out that one of the two was still alive and in a lot of pain. So this great man put the perp out of her misery with an efficient kill shot instead of letting her suffer for what could have been hours.
Brought a tear to my eye...THAT MAN IS A SAINT! -
