    Anyone picking this up? Thoughts?

I like it and I totally would get one but I'm not excited enough about it to go out of my way to get it.

Maybe once the price drops or they come out with a better bundle.

That being said, I played it at Best Buy a few weeks back and its a very cool concept and done very well. Love how its backwards compadible with Wii games and Wii remotes.

Point is that leading your entire industry in sales does not = fail

Talk to me about game sales. Most companies take a loss on the console. Wii sucks in game sales bc the console is a gimmick.

Their stock price has been going down for a while now and if I remember correctly they've been posting quarterly losses or are projected to.

They do have the overall most consoles moved this generation but they have not made the most money this generation. I'd wager that would be Microsoft. They've been leading in sales for like 20 some months and they have a much higher attach rate for games as well. Add in the money they make from live through sales, subscriptions, and advertising and I think they've probably done the best business wise this gen.

The avg Wii owner owns 2 games, none of which a very small percentage is a 3rd party game. That's not a recipe for success.

I'll get one when the prices start coming down. Probably wait until the current $350 bundle can be had for $250. Mario in HD excites me.

Reviews are decent for the Mario game. I am curious of how the graphics look on the Wii u.

The Wii was probably the worst purchase I have ever made. I played a couple of the Mario games and that was it. I will stick to my Xbox and PC for gaming from now on. I was thrilled to get $165 for my Wii and all my games from gamestop, because I was expecting like $50. I haven't looked into the Wii U too much, but was always under the impression that the only reason the Wii was successful was because it was really the only system that catered to family oriented games.

Also, motion active games and systems are totally overrated, and that includes the Kinect and Playstation Move.

It has slightly better specs than a 360 if I remember. Don't know if that translates to better graphics though. It's basically them bringing out something comparable in power to a 360 or PS3. Don't think that strategy will work so well for them since whatever Sony and Microsoft release either next year or the year after is going to make the Wii U look absolutely terrible so hopefully Nintendo is ready to drop the price by a lot or risk losing a ton of sales.
