Cincinnati Rush Hour

Gonna be hitting Cincy tomorrow evening around 5:15-5:30. I don't know much about Cincy traffic, but I'll be coming from 71N. I assume that I should take 275E and get back on 71 south of Cincy, but was wondering if heading straight down 71 would be a better idea?

I'd say go around 275 just to make life easier but I'm also not sure what its like up around where 275/71 meet. I know on 71 from the river south it can get decently backed up but nothing terrible. Straight 71 is probably a little faster but would hit more traffic.

71 should be alittle faster but more stressful

71S isn't that bad north of downtown, even during rush hour. Once you're in Kentucky it gets bad. You could also take 71S to 471 to 275.

I think getting on 275 north of Cincinnati is a bad idea because 275 will have more traffic than 71 southbound.

The amount of traffic doesn't bother me as long as it is moving.

Yeah 275 tends to slow down a bit at the 75 and 71 interchanges was my point.

Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?

Heading southbound on 71 around that time is rough around the Mason area. From exit 19 down to about exit 14 traffic is usually pretty backed up with a lot of stop and go.

After that, everything is pretty clear until you get to the downtown area heading into KY. It will suck bad.

Lookin' forward to it. Going to a concert at the Ryman on Thursday, then Kid Rock and Montogomery Gentry will be playing with my buddy at Tootsies!

Make sure to stop for some Princes hot Chicken. It's in a ghetto strip mall but if you like spicy food this is a must stop. Also make sure to try the homemade cakes they sell. The chicken is really hot though so go one level less then you think you should.

I've decided to just head straight down 71 and hope for the best.

Cincy does have some shitty traffic during rush hour. Luckily, my daily commute is on a little pocket of 71 that almost zero traffic in the direction I happen to be going both ways.

Good to hear. I pretty much avoid 75 or 71 unless I have to use them.
