The policy there was when you lost your job, you had insurance through the month of your last day worked. We found out my wife had cancer and the surgery was scheduled for August 6th. Middle of July, I was laid off with about 40 other people, so my insurance ran out at the end of July. The doctor couldn't push the surgery up or anything so we were pretty much stuck with paying for it. August 2nd, HR woman calls me to return to work the next Monday, the 4th. I was rather confused knowing that I was say down on the seniority list, but I didn't ask any questions and reported to work the next Monday like I was supposed to. At lunch that same day, my Supervisor came around and told me that I was laid off after today and that it would be my final day of work. They brought me back for one day just so I would have insurance through August and my wife's surgery would be covered. Can't thank them enough for that.

The rest have been assholes though.
    That is awesome.

Yeah, I am fearing the worst. I actually had two interviews last week, the other for OSU and they're just as bad

Not going to go through the posts, however you have bitched about the following:

    -being fat
    -loans
    -chest pains and breathing
    -writing an 8 page paper
-you emailed snot QQing about coa and I

I am sure if I took the time to think about it I could add on to that list.

Why did you quote me from a different thread and then post in this one?

I don't remember the loan one. Which one was that?

Back in the pre-politically collect days, it was called Personnel. There is a Dirty Hairy movies - I don't recall which one - that has the best line about HR/Personnel. Inspector Harry Callahan had just killed some bad guy and his boss was pissed ag him for not following protocol.

Leutenant: Callahan , you're off the streets for now. I'm transferring you to Personnel
Callahan (scrunching up his face into a pissed off and confused look): Personnel? That's for a$$holes.
LT: I was in Personnel for eight years.
    Callahan: Yeah

I haven't had a bad experience with HR yet. Course I've only had a real job for a few months.

But I agree about women coworkers. They blow(sometimes in the good way).

Always bitching about how stressed they were. Oh boo hoo, I have to write a 10 page research paper. OH NOEZ! Case in point, ETB asked us to write his 8-12 page paper LMAO. Meanwhile business students were pulling all nighters in the library to study for their finance/econ tests. Never once hearf them bitch.

The bitching hasn't ended at the college level either. Still see the same EDU QQers bitching about finishing their students' progress reports. LOLFAIL. Case in point again, ETB whines the most out of all the posters here.
If the business majors were pulling all nighters its because they weren't that smart to begin with and had trouble with the material :).

If they were smart enough, they would have been engineering majors and then got an MBA, that's where the money is really at...engineering BS, then MBA.

I went the "geek" route and just did my MS in engineering too.

I will give you though that micro/macroecon and finance (took both) were tougher than any of the classes that edu majors take (save the math/physics HS teachers).

I was just providing an example. Insert any major other than edu, and it still works (except shit like art).

Belly becomes more senile and confusing with each post. IB4 "Im still stronger & smarter then u mofo lol "

But yeah, women co-workers are the worst. Mine, along with the rest of you, are most notorious for complaining when the slightest thing goes wrong. Just suck it up and deal with it like the rest of us.
Cool story bro moment: We're trying to raise money for a needy family in the area as the holidays approach. One lady took it upon ourselves to set up a raffle. We were each given a set of 20 tickets to sell for a dollar each, and they'll be put into a jar to win some Pampered Chef pan (yeah, she's always whoring out her Pampered Chef shit). Anyways, I took my tickets and set them aside with full intention of trying to pawn of a couple on my mom/girlfriend but never did. My co-worker is apparently keeping a list of whoever is/isn't following along because she sent me some intraoffice mail with more tickets the other day. Annoyed, I threw them away. The next day, I had ANOTHER envelope with more tickets on the same envelope she previously used. Good thing she isn't here today. I wouldn't mind reminding her to fuck off because I don't want to sell her stupid shit.

My biggest pet peeve at my office is treat tables. Everyone is expected to bring in a treat for lunch for people birthdays, going away, new hires, and promotions. Im basically bringing in some kind of treat for the office to eat each week. The worst part of this the only people I ever see get up nd get something from the table are the same people who actually take their hour lunch each day and complain that they have "so much" work. If your so busy skip your lunch or grab something from the cafe and eat it at your desk like the rest of us.

Guy who interviewed me emailed yesterday and confirmed that HR was still holding them up.

    Worthless.

HR slapped my wrist last week bc I treated two subordinates to beer and pizza after they stayed late to help with a project and received OT for it. Two others who were given the option of staying late but chose not to complained to HR that I'm always "favoring" the two who stayed late. The two who stayed late - males, the two who bitched - non males (both too Fugly to call female).

HR said it was outside of the Union contract to "award" the employees who already received OT with extras such as beer and pizza. Shoot me Fkn now.
