dlazzMost often times, if "Unknown Artist" appears in your music library, that particular track is missing its ID3 tag information.
You can use a program like MusicBrainz or Winamp to retrieve the information for you.
Hope this helps. -
reclegend22Charles Hamilton is a pretty great, and relatively unknown, rapper.

Leroy Powell is always the guy I mention on these kind of threads. If you like country music but think pop country is bullshit you'll like this guy.
This is an older song but it's my favorite. Slow, but awesome.

An acoustic version of a song off his latest album. This is actually the first I've heard this version.

He has a lot of great faster, heavier songs but all of the youtube vids are live show recordings and crappy quality. -

OSHGood thread. I enjoy unknown artists. I was listening to Brantley Gilbert before he made it big. It is nice to hear the non-mainstream artists.

Love those guys (It's Manchester Orchestra who are a favorite of mine plus another favorite Kevin Devine in their side band).
And more recently:

Little Hurricane who opened for Electric Six when I saw them put on a killer show. And the drummer is hot. -
sportchamppsI love trampled by turtles after seeing them at bonnaroo.
Can someone post lost Kid by apache relay for me -

Since you like country music, check out a girl named Erin Enderlin on Youtube(would post but can't access Youtube at work). Honestly, she probably won't make it big as a singer cause she isn't much to look at, but she has a great "old school" voice, and is a really good writer. She has written Monday Morning Church for Alan Jackson, You Don't Know Jack for Luke Bryan, and LeeAnn Womack's last call. She has a track on Jamey Johnson's new album as well. My cousin opened for her once and they have became friends, and will actually be writing together in December.OSH;1307735 wrote:Definitely enjoy some Brandon Rhyder too.

I get into the more underground forms of metal, so a lot of what I listen to is "unknown" as far as radio/charts/etc. Those are like three of a few hundred groups I could post. -
