His text to me.."im currently sitting on the pile of rubble that is my house. Not really sure what to do next" that sucks
I believe the fire took down something like 50 structures. Unreal!

I agree, there is no way people would be out on a boat during the storm.

Been a surreal couple of days, I admit I didn't expect this storm to be as nasty as it turned out to be -- which was WAY stronger than Hurricane Irene. I live in Brooklyn Heights, and I was fortunate to only lose internet and cable (my power never went off, but it flickered throughout the evening). DUMBO is flooded, and lower Manhattan really got crushed - much of the island is still without power, and the subways will be down for days, if not longer. Worst storm I have ever seen in this area, period. Hope all the Ohio Chatter peeps are safe ...

PS, I know "Jersey Shore" is officially over, but even if they wanted to continue that horrid show, the would have to find a new location ... check out Seaside Heights, before and after ...

Pretty much every pier and boardwalk has been destroyed. It's crazy to see places I go every year on vacation and only an hour to an hour and a half away from me so destroyed. We were extremely lucky around here

I know it's not possible to one-up a hurricane, and that is definitely not my intention, but my house burned down when I was a senior in HS and it really does suck. There are things you have to replace that you don't even think about. Gift cards to anywhere helped...even places like drug stores and Walmart so he can get toiletries and things of that nature. I am not sure if you are in any position to help, but I just thought I would mention it.

I was one of the lucky ones, power, cable, and internet never went out. My complex never lost power either.
Apparently, large portions of the DC area were spared compared to others.
Still, the images and video out of NJ and NY are just crazy.
Thoughts are with a few of my friends up yonder without power, some of which I have heard from, and are doing alright.

    Continue to stay safe everyone.
I have a feeling even though it is bad, we have may dodged one.

Same here - I was shocked to see how bad NJ and NY got hit. I don't live far from DC and I expected a lot worse.

Why would anyone build a coaster on top of a pier??

    Edit: nevermind, it's New Jersey

You might not be able to see it, but this Weather Channel guy has a tab open on his browser "p00n"

I was also lucky. No major issues in my neighborhood, just a lot of downed trees.
